Pier 77 doesn’t try to be fancy—it just does it right. The service is solid and welcoming. The food shows up fresh, hot, and honest, with portions that don’t insult your appetite. Prices feel fair—borderline generous—for what lands on the table. The menu is small, but that’s a strength; every item earns its place. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, the kind of place that lets you slow down and breathe. Flavors are bold and clean, no shortcuts taken. Craftsmanship shows in every plate. If you’re in Rockport, Texas, this spot is an easy yes—simple to find, hard to forget. Standout dish? The fried fish plate. Crispy, hot, and downright excellent. Pier 77 knows its lane—and stays in it beautifully.
Was recommended to go here from a local for boiled shrimp. Had the shrimp boil with potatoes and corn. Shrimp were more than enough for 2 people, were large, tasty, and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend checking out. They take cash only, but have an ATM there. They don't serve adult beverages but allow BYOB.
Best spot I've found for great portion sizes and good quality food. Definitely will be taking some home. Cash only, but I think the quality and atmosphere are well worth it.
Went for dinner after seeing the good reviews and it was delicious! The portions are big and priced well. I got the Grilled Pork chops with mushrooms sauce. Got a cup of chicken gumbo that I was impressed with. The roux was great. My husband got the Buttered garlic shrimp and loved it. Definitely recommend and going back.
Overall, look to stop here when you're here for more than a day. The fried fish and shrimp were awesome! If you get the combo and two side salads, it is plenty of food for most. I did just the fried shrimp with sweet potato fries, and I couldn't finish it. Two others in our group split the combo with fries and side salads and couldn't finish it. The bacon burger was huge with a double patty and lots of fries. I would say share it and save room for dessert because I had an awesome piece of exploding chocolate cake. I recommend coffee with the cake. I will note that the fries were average for me. The seasoned fries were crisp, but light on seasoning, which for my father-in-law would be great. The sweet potato fries were delicious, but I wish they were a bit more crisp. So, the lack of 4 stars had more to do with the wait staff. She was not a ray of sunshine, but I think she was having a rough day because she had others that helped her land the plane, which speaks well of the staff. We all have bad days. The place had a family feel, like visiting the grandparents fishing cabin. Note, this is CASH ONLY, and no alcohol, well BYOB. I doubt these will be issues, but they may require a bit more planning.
If you are ever around this place, don’t hesitate to stop by if you are hungry. At first we thought it was pricey, but when we got our order. Plenty of food and it was delicious. I had the shrimp and fries plate, while my wife had the fish and fries plate. The food was amazingly delicious. Whenever we return we will definitely stop by. Two thumbs up.
Food was amazing!! Fried flounder entree is top notch!! My personal favorite were the Texas rangoons. Our server Amanda was attentive and on point despite the restaurant being full the whole time we were there!! I knew it was gonna be good when the parking lots were both full at 5pm!!!
The place is easy to miss driving down the road, small sign and more home looking than restaurant, but, don't miss it. Once you're inside, the decor takes you to Texas for sure. The place is SUPER clean. The restrooms are adorable. But most of all, the food is outstanding. Bravo to the cook(s)!!! Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Do come hungry. The portions are gigantic.
