My good friends took me here for the first time, and boy the food does not disappoint The nostalgic old feel of the restaurant took me back to my childhood. In all honesty I try to stray away from cooked fish, as I found them to be fishy. So I was apprehensive at first.. But all of those thoughts goes away as soon as the dishes came, the fishes weren't smelly instead smells of great aroma and the flavors were spot on. Grilled chicken too was a first to have on this version, I was told it's 'Wonogiri' style. All in all I would highly recommend this restaurant for those who loves Gurame and Grilled chicken Thanks again guys & all the best

The restaurant's atmosphere is old school. Pretty easy to spot. Price point a bit high for Solo standard. Gurame bakar taste is a bit different if compare to other seafood restaurant, in a good way of course. The portion also is small. The sambal was somewhat little and the rice too lol. Overall a good dining experience. Well visit this place again for sure.

Do you like gourami? If you do, then this is the place for you. Deep fried or grilled, Gunung Sari has one of the tastiest gourami you’ll ever taste. They also have great condiments (chili mixed sauce) and a good fried chicken. You come for the food, you stay for the food. But be careful, your clothes will smell like fried food afterwards.

I highly recommand this place. The fish is freshly catched and made. The seasoning goes into the fish well however, the recipe is a secret and magic. I agree best fresh water fish in town!

Recommended by my local friends, they said Resto Gunung Sari has the best gurame (carp) dishes. That's why they brought me for an early lunch here We came here on Saturday at 11AM. Guess what, we were the only customers here in this modest restaurant! Besides gurame, they also provide lele (catfish) and some side dishes. We definitely tried their gurame dishes, such as Gurame Goreng (Fried Carp) and Gurame Bakar Kecap Manis (Grilled Carp with Sweet Sauce).  It can be served as a whole fish or half a fish. We chose one whole portion. Their gurame bakar is crispy. For a new gurame experience, you have to try gurame bakar kecap manis. The fish is grilled with sweet sauce, giving it more seasoning, a richer taste, and only a bit of crispiness. I like it! Recommended!
