We had idli,Vada, dosa, pongal and puri- aaloo All good, saambhar was excellent ( very close to what you get in south India, although a little bit more sweet than what we like!). Will try to taste other stuff next time! Highly recommend!
This is a pretty busy restaurant with plenty of seating available, though some tables and chairs feel a bit fragile and look like they might not hold up well. The biggest issue is the time it takes to process orders. I understand it’s a popular place, but with multiple staff members available, this is something the management could improve with better coordination. That said, the food is absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend dining here for the taste alone. During our visit, we ordered the veg thali and the Mysore masala dosa—both were delicious, full of flavor, and perfectly spiced. Despite the wait time, I would still recommend this place for its amazing food.
The food was good especially their chutneys are good , but the ambience is not so good. I took mini bature with chole and dosa along with Manchuria, Manchuria was good. For a south Indian liking you will not like the chole bature they put ajwain in it. Overall it was a decent experience It is a self service based restaurant.
I recently ordered takeout from Savera Indian Kitchen and had a really satisfying experience. I ordered veg Manchurian, maska bun, chicken biryani, and paneer biryani. The service was good, and the staff handled the order smoothly. The food was packed well for takeout, and everything maintained its quality. The veg Manchurian was excellent and honestly reminded me of Vijayawada-style Manchurian with that perfect spicy and flavorful taste. It had the right balance of sauce and crispiness, which made it really enjoyable. The maska bun was definitely the highlight for me. They heated it before packing, and it tasted amazing. The bun was warm, soft, and the butter melted nicely, making it incredibly delicious. Both the chicken biryani and paneer biryani were also very good. The rice was flavorful, well cooked, and the portions were generous. The chicken was tender, and the paneer pieces were soft and nicely seasoned. Overall, everything we ordered tasted really good, and the experience was great. The maska bun and Manchurian are definitely must-try items here.
Mali Kodtha is really good in veg and almost all items are decent a good place for food
One of my new favorites in Dallas. Was expecting little less cleanly, over stuffed menu but surprisingly it is clean, very good menu items and relatively fast service. You gotta try their ghee roast chef’s picks. Lunch times are not as overcrowded as dinner and evenings.
If you're on the hunt for flavorful South Indian halal comfort food, we found a little gem that’s been quietly satisfying our pulao cravings: Severa Kitchen Restaurant. Heads up, the menu is displayed in the front, but it can be overwhelming as it is so long, but don’t worry, it’s well-organized and wonderfully descriptive. And the food? Let’s dig in. Biryani/Pulao Combo My first visit here was driven by a full-on biryani craving. But then the combo option caught my eye—curious, right? You get a tender piece of chicken nestled in pulao rice, served with raita, chicken kabobs, and biryani sauce. Here’s the fun part: without the sauce, it's pulao; add it, and voilà—biryani! It's a flavorful middle ground, though not a traditional "combo meal" by most standards. Still, it hits the spot if you're feeling indecisive. Palnadu Chicken Pulao This one quickly became a regular order. It arrives fresh, spicy, and generous with Thai green/red chilies. If you're spice-sensitive, set those aside—but if you’re up for the heat, dive in. It’s bold, warm, and deeply satisfying. Chicken Ghee Pulao Another favorite. Think comfort food at its finest—rich, aromatic, and cooked with love. The ghee lends a beautiful depth to the dish, making it craveable every time. Chicken Thali For the full-on South Indian experience, call ahead to see when thalis are being served. We went for the non-veg chicken thali, and it was a feast: lightly crispy fried chicken, two types of chicken curry, white rice, lemon rice (swapped in for curd rice), one poori (chapati optional), daal, and a mystery veg item that tasted like a mashed cilantro chutney—it looked earthy, brown, and surprisingly delicious. If anyone knows the name, drop it in the comments! Special Vijayawada Biryani This one didn’t quite win us over. It was decent, but not remarkable enough to satisfy serious biryani cravings. If you're choosing between biryani or pulao here, go with the pulao every time—it’s been consistently excellent. Final Thoughts Severa Kitchen has been a warm, flavorful, and comforting discovery. Every dish carries that home-cooked soul, and while the biryani may not be their strongest suit, the pulaos are the stars of the show.
Visited first time and ordered onion utthapam since they don’t have other breakfast items like idli, vada available during lunch on weekends. It was decent in taste however sambhar needs some balance in sourness. It was too sour. Price was $11.99+tax. Ambience wise it was spacious however many booth type seats were damaged.
