Went here with a large group of people on a Friday night. Everyone basically had different menu items from steak, lamb chops, shrimp, clam chowder and more. The food was amazing. The drinks were good. The service was great and very attentive. That night a young lady with an amazing voice sang along with a piano player. Will definitely go back!
I needed comfort food today and love trying new restaurants. Pulled up to Savoy for the first time and my little church baby can COOK! The white bean soup had layers of flavor and the short ribs were delicious and fork tender. The big hugs from the Dearings and stellar service by Rose, along with the live singer, gracious maitre d, and kind parking lot attendant each soothed me in their own way.
Classy. Savoy takes care of you. From the outside in and all around. Tasteful exterior, polite parking attendant, helpful hostess and a jazzy band. Small dining area, you definitely need reservations. Many good looking menu items emphasizing seafood. Full bar with professional barkeep made my martini correctly. A wonderful experience in all aspects. I think my favorite thing was when the owner bought us a glass of champagne.
We came in for our birthday. We originally had a reservation for 7pm but could not make it. We arrived at 9 with hopes they would still serve us and they did. The service was excellent. Food came out promptly and delicious. They did not make us feel like we were a bother even though we showed an hour before closing. We truly appreciated it. Drinks were strong. Jazz music was on point. They said they have live bands on the weekends. Will be coming again.
I had the pleasure of dining at this venue with a group of friends. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by well dressed professional staff. Our waitress Rose went above and beyond to ensure our dinning experience was exceptional. With a variety of dishes on the menu each of us ordered something different. I ordered Stuffed salmon with potatoes and vegetables. There was plenty to take home. We are already planning our next outing at the the Savoy.
Our initial server was just not what we expected, but then we got a veteran server who caught the ball she was dropping! We've been here a number of time's and each time it's been great! However the Catfish,I ordered was was good but I ordered it without the normal crawfish toppings so I got it over plain White rice under my catfish! Not anyone's fault but who wants plain white rice over catfish! Again my fault.so I added Fry's which were good but I felt they weren't fresh in temperature! Understand at two dinning at $150.00 expect more.overall are visit was good and we will return
This was my first but not last time here. It was amazing from pulling in to the parking lot, to being seated. The waiter was amazing. He made my experience that much greater. The food was remarkable and the butter pecan cheese cake finished off and amazing night. The band was great. Or was a time.
The service was outstanding! The doorman/greeter/parking lot attendant was phenomenal. He basically walked us from our cars. He knew about our reservation. He walked us in. At the end of our meal, he walked us to our cars, held the doors open and even took pictures for us and with us. Inside, the staff was also great. A server, that wasn't even assigned to our table, paused what he was doing and sung Happy Birthday to my mother. They were all very sweet. High class. The service was definitely the highlight. The food was fine. I really liked the "Savoy" decor. I don't like the area and I never would have thought that such an outstanding place would be over there, but I'm totally glad we went. I think it's best to arrive at dinner time. At that time, there's a full menu and I hear that there's also live music.
Hosted a Birthday Party on a Friday evening right after work...excellent is the only word to describe the experience. Food, drinks and the service from entry to exit. I am hopeful Detroiters commit to supporting local restaurants versus larger chains.
We had an excellent fine dining experience. Everything was delicious, the best. The jazz singer/ musician made it a 5 star experience. We went on a Wednesday at 6 pm. There weren't many customers at yet but before we left the parking lot was getting full. I would definitely go again and hopefully soon!

If you are looking for a fine dining experience, then look no further. From the moment we pulled on the lot, the top tier service began with the parking lot attendant. The hostess pleasantly greeted us and had our table ready for our reservation. Then, our server, Gary, took time to go over the menu with us, assuring us that there wasn't a wrong selection. Our Calamari appetizer was delish. Our dinner selections were the Stuffed Salmon (Salmon Relleno) with whipped mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables and The New Zealand Lamb Chops with an add-on fried Lobster Tail. Our portions were actually more than we expected, and the flavors were perfect! We couldn't make up something wrong if we tried. Oh, and my husband says this was the best Old Fashion he's ever had. My drink was a Strawberry Lemon Drop and it did not disappoint. We'll definitely be back. I'm sharing these details because, had it been a terrible experience, I would've provided just as much info. Much continued success to Chef Melba and The Savoy family!!! P.s. they had live music too, great atmosphere!!
This was my first time at The Savoy the food was amazing, service was excellent and the DJ was on point! As we were leaving they were setting up for the live band. Next time we will plan to go during the live band(7pm).
Nice spot! Though east, lol I would return! Came for the owners bday celebration it was very nice. I saw some of my friends that I haven't seen in awhile and I had a very good time! I can't wait to return
I've visited Savoy for their grand opening, grand reopening, and grand re-reopening. I've experienced brunch and dinner. The service and food are usually outstanding, however, our recent brunch experience was a bit off. We had reservations at 1:00. Please make sure you make a reservation. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our server, JP, was professional. She brought water and took our order within the first 10 minutes of our visit. After our drinks were delivered we waited over an hour for Catfish & Grits and Steak & Eggs. No complimentary bread or apps were offered. The manager apologized for the delay. I admit the restaurant was PACKED so I tried to give some grace. The catfish & grits is a MUST order item. It was delicious. The steak & eggs were NOT good. The cut and cook on the steak made it tough. We ordered medium well, but it and the eggs were overcooked. Avoid the "breakfast" potatoes. These boiled red-skinned potatoes lacked seasoning and tasted old. We started to send it back but opted to not do so because of the long wait. Would I recommend Savoy? Yes, just pack your patience and have a snack in your bag...LOL Please note...18% gratuity is automatically applied.
