Scotch Plains Tavern

We came in on a busy Saturday afternoon without a reservation. The restaurant was full. I explained our grandson has autism and that we needed a booth. He didn’t have any available but after a few minutes he was able to seat us. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch (try the stuffed gnocchi and the steak stir fry). Plenty of options for children. Our server (Zacharyia) was attentive and speedy. Our first time here. We’ll definitely be back!

This is another top favorite for a nice night out. Scotch plains is beautiful inside and out. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful warm night and loved the open fire tables with the outdoor bar. The menu has so many wonderful fresh choices and of course I had to do the French Onion soup. We shared a salad and ordered prime rib and a burger. Between the great service and perfectly cooked food there is not one complaint from us. The drinks were made perfect and my husband and I are already looking forward to going back. This is a must try if your in the area.

We visited last night for the first time since it was Oliver‘s Tavern years ago. We were so impressed from the moment we walked in the door. We opted to go upstairs to the beautiful bar area for appetizers and happy hour drink specials. The food was phenomenal (we had incredible nachos, which were loaded with beef and the fantastic, huge warm pretzel with cheese sauce) and the service was phenomenal as well! Every server and staff member was so attentive and super friendly ! Can’t wait to go back for another great experience and maybe take advantage of some nice weather and sitting out by the fire tables outside.

Went to see the band, Avenue Groove. They were awesome! Their singer, Laura, has a fantastic, power voice! The musicians in the band were excellent as well! Lots of people dancing, fun time! I would also have liked it if they mixed in some 2000's music in as well which they used to do. Great time was had by all ! A few of us ordered appetizers. The coconut shrimp were a good size & delicious & the flatbread with figs, ricotta, arugula, & honey was really good too. The place itself is nicely decorated, good atmosphere, and nice clean bathrooms ! Recommend!

Great food. Great selections. Good sized portions. Great service. Beachie type theme. No problems getting things changed or cooked your way. Huge patio-- closed right now--seasonal. Would definitely go again.

Nov 2025. We stopped in for lunch and had wings, French onion soup, chicken tenders, the ahi tuna avocado bowl. Everything was good. The service was good. Overall a nice experience.

Everything in here is so nice and beautiful. Service is great. The food is amazing i can’t say anything bad about it. Yall should definitely come here
