Smokems Bbq

Upsized lunch special of pork sandwich, fries and a sweet tea for less than $10! The sandwich was really tasty including the slaw and pickles. Sauces are super good. And the fries are cut fresh and are amazing!!

Stop them to get a little Fuel and let my grandson go to the bathroom. I told him hey let's go over here and check out this little barbecue place. He said okay Papa. I grabbed a cubed pork sandwich with sweet bbq sauce. It was very tasty, it came with a little bit of chopped onion and what looked like a little bit of chopped lettuce. I would definitely try more things there if I came through that town again.

Hey guys!Me and my wife recently checked this place out.and will definitely be coming back!!the atmosphere was really nice and inviting.the young lady working the register did a great job at customer service really was refreshing.the food on the other hand was amazing.my wife got the ribs and she’s really picky with food lol and absolutely loved them!!I got the jumbo chopped pork sandwich and the meat was so flavorful and tender!! Please give them a try you will not regret it!

Smokem’s BBQ is hands-down some of the best barbecue in Phenix City! The meat was tender, smoky, and full of flavor — you can tell it’s made with real care. The sides were just as good, especially the mac and cheese and baked beans. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find a spot that hits the mark on food, service, and atmosphere all at once, but Smokem’s nailed it. We’ll definitely be back for more!

We searched on Google maps for food along our route traveling through. It was about 230 and we hadn't eaten lunch yet. When we saw Smokems was in a gas station we hesitated, but we're hungry and decided to give it a try. The menu had good options, but I asked the register clerk what the favorite items were. She walked us through the most popular lunch sandwich meal, BBQ plate, and hamburger steak house special. Boy, I'm glad I let her sell that hamburger steak and curly fries to me! I do believe I could have eaten a whole bowl of the grilled onions and gravy. The quality of food would compete with Sonny's. One employee in particular left an impression on me. Kimberly not only walked us through our first visit order, but for the duration of our dine in experience I noticed she led the rest of the staff the way a solid manager or owner would. Between taking orders for the apparent mid afternoon local hot spot she cleaned up the dinning area, encouraged other staff, went out of her way to make sure the ice machine was completely full in case there was another rush of customers, all the while greeting each person with kindness and a smile! Employees like her that take ownership, are self motivated to do a great job, and radiate warm kindness are rare and special. I wanted to share what I noticed and give encouragement to others...go eat the BBQ at the gas station!

Smokems BBQ was a nice stop for lunch off of SR 431. The food was good! But even tho they weren't ready for business quite yet when the doors opened up, they offered anything off the menu at no extra cost for my troubles since I waited an additional 15 minutes. I had the rib plate, and it was more than enough food. The service was nice and courteous. My only complaint and reason it's not 5 stars was the atmosphere. Some music playing would have liven up the dine-in experience. And zoned out the kitchen talk about staffing. If you're ever riding on SR 431, stop by and enjoy some BBQ! Great tasting food at a great price!
