Description The Nice Guy

The Nice Guy at 401 N La Cienega Blvd offers an upscale, Italian-inspired dinner menu designed for a stylish, social evening. Starters, salads, pizzas, pastas, seafood, steaks, and comforting classics are complemented by an extensive drinks program featuring signature cocktails, wine, Champagne, beer, non-alcoholic creations, and after-dinner drinks. Current favorites include Molinari’s Meatballs, Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, the Nice Guy Burger, lobster pizza, and indulgent truffle-topped dishes. Prices sit firmly in the premium range, with pizzas around $26-$51, pastas mostly $31-$39, and larger entrées reaching $97, reflecting the restaurant’s polished setting and high-quality ingredients.

Fresh herbs, seasonal produce, premium cheeses, seafood, Wagyu beef, and Italian pantry staples create rich yet well-balanced flavors. The restaurant operates from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., making it primarily suited to dinner, date nights, celebrations, cocktails, and group gatherings rather than breakfast or lunch.

Menu Highlights

Molinari’s Meatballs - $26
Tender meatballs arrive in spicy tomato sauce with creamy stracciatella and grilled bread, delivering a satisfying mix of richness, acidity, and gentle heat.

Spicy Rigatoni Vodka - $32
Rigatoni is coated in a creamy tomato-vodka-style sauce with chili flakes, Parmesan, and basil. Its silky texture and warming spice make it an approachable pasta favorite.

Lobster Pizza - $37
Sweet lobster is paired with sunny vodka sauce, basil, and chili oil for a luxurious pizza balancing creamy, savory, and mildly spicy flavors.

Black Truffle Bianca - $51
Sottocenere, Fontina, mozzarella, sage, and fresh black truffle create an intensely aromatic white pizza with earthy depth and a rich, melted-cheese finish.

The Nice Guy Burger - $27
Maple-glazed bacon, caramelized onion, arugula, house-made American cheese, and fries turn this signature burger into a sweet, savory, and indulgent house specialty.

Bucatini Lobster Fra Diavolo - $66
Grilled lobster crowns bucatini with tomato and Calabrian chili, combining firm pasta, delicate seafood, and assertive Italian heat.

16oz Dry-Aged Ribeye - $91
Dry-aged beef is finished with balsamic brown butter and thyme, producing deep beefy flavor, caramelized richness, and an elegant herbaceous finish.

This was a TOP NIGHT!! We had a reservation at 8p and around 9p they tried to seat us in patio (it was cold outside) and so we had to wait for another 45 minutes to be seated. It was very crowded but really worth the wait. The manager Je’re was wonderful and very helpful. She sat us in a cozy booth when our table was ready. This place is a VIBEEEE. We came here on Martini Monday! Such a hidden gem and if you roll a double on your dice you get your meal for free! And we rolled a double 3 times!!! We got the burger (delish) the bolognase (amazing) and Caesar salad. We also got espresso martinis which I normally don’t like but they were very good. Highly recommend!

The food was good, but I do feel like we could get better for cheaper. However you are paying for more of the atmosphere, which is successfully aiming towards the 20s - 30s year olds. I was very impressed with their music. It fit the vibe so well, VERY WELL DONE. The appetizers were super tasty though. ONE THING TO LOOK OUT FOR, they may make you pay an extra entertainment fee (aka birthday fee) even though they didn’t give us entertainment. Good service otherwise.

There’s something about The Nice Guy that doesn’t need a camera to prove it happened. The moment you step inside, you’re wrapped in that low-lit, old-Hollywood haze, the kind of energy that hums between champagne whispers and the soft clink of crystal glasses. It’s not just a place, it’s a mood. The crowd knows the rules: no photos, no names, just moments. The music sits perfectly between nostalgic and now, and every cocktail feels like it was made for you. Smooth, confident, and just a little dangerous. If you know, you know. And if you don’t… maybe that’s the point.

I just wanna say that I’ve been to a lot of places in LA and I’m such a foodie. I’m also in the industry. The nice guy has become my favorite bar in the world along with having such an amazing, friendly and welcoming staff. It is the best place in the world to me. Je’re Always takes the best care and love for us. She is the best. Along with Alex and Bridget being some of the most detail oriented & friendly bartenders I’ve ever met in my life. I will be coming here many more times. If I could come seven days a week I would. If the nice guy isn’t on your list to go to, You better put it on it.

This place is a vibe. They serve amazing food and have a great selection of drinks. We ordered the chicken parm and rigatoni vodka. Both were delicious. They have valet and street metered parking. It’s dimly lit, so be aware of having to bring the menu close to your face. They also have live music on Saturdays.

Delicious. Me and a friend went for Martini Mondays and the food, atmosphere and people were awesome. We made a reservation and we weren’t seated for a while after our reservation was made but the incredible service and environment made up for it. The chef also came by to all of the tables to introduce himself! Will definitely be coming back.

Definitely one of my favourite LA spots when I’m in town. Book a reservation, come on time and you’ll have a great night. The food is great, a little more expensive then it should be but you’re paying for the atmosphere. We had the cherry tomato pizza, calamari, kale salad, pesto pasta and the bread pudding. The cherry tomato pizza and the bread pudding were the stars for me. The staff are attentive and quick, the atmosphere is beautiful and the live music is the cherry on top. Definitely recommend.

Some of the best Italian food I’ve had in LA. The vibe is exactly what you want for a night out: fresh, fun, and full of energy. Service was excellent too. Highly recommend for anyone looking for both great food and a great atmosphere for a date night.

Spicy shrimp scampi and the rigatoni bolognese were my personal favorites but everything was delicious. We also had the margarita pizza, chicken parm, and branzino. We had the donut holes and tiramisu for dessert. The vibes always cool and dark and the live jazz with a modern twist was a delight!

It's confirmed, the spicy chicken sandwich is BOMB. It brought back memories of my teen years scarfing down Wendy's spicy chicken sandwiches, but without the nasty sinewy bits or errant fat glob lurking amongst the "meat". The chicken was hot and crispy, the chipotle sauce was spicy and creamy, and the veggies were fast food sandwich appropriate. I took my sandwich to go due to covid but appreciated the distancing and strict mask policy while I waited for my food. Service was friendly and attentive. Thanks for the hard hit of nostalgia without the regrets, Nice Guys!

Whenever we thought we found a top brunch, the nice guy changed that thinking. Bringing along a top menu plus the typical great american service, this institution has raised the standards again. An understanding manager plus top service.

The Nice Guy is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. My only complaint is if you have a large party, they won't even take separate forms of payment unless you split the bill in half. If you go with 5 or more people, bring cash. It's ridiculous. It'd be nice if they invested in hand-held devices where you can pay for your own portion separately. I was recently in Iceland and never had an issue with parties of 5 or more. This is the only turn-off here. Otherwise, it's a great restaurant!
