Proffitt's Porch

Found this place 16 years ago while living in Meridian, MS. Made a special trip from Birmingham just to eat here again. Was not disappointed! Forgot to take pics of the food, we were starved, but we had 2 smoked turkey sandwiches, a reuben, and red beans and rice. All were very good, just like it was 16 years ago! The folks here are really friendly and they are seating limited numbers of people inside and out. If you are any where close, please stop and try this place!

Great sandwiches! I had the Cam which is as close to a muffaletta as I will probably find in Columbus. The Porch is a neat little place to enjoy some nice weather and good eats. If you hope to sit outside, avoid peak hours. Especially right around noon. 4/5 stars simply because once I nabbed a place to sit, it took some time to get menus and actually be waited on.

This place is fantastic! The food is delicious! The staff goes above and beyond! And the restaurant itself offers a cozy view of the lake. The outdoor seating area is perfect for large group gatherings, while the indoor space is more suitable for a bit more intimate settings. You can't go wrong with any of the meal choices - they're all tasty and will leave you wanting more, even after you're feeling stuffed. Okay, so, you may be thinking that the image attached to this review doesn't quite reflect all the praise I'm giving this place. But trust me... IT IS GOOD! Just because it doesn't look like something Gordon Ramsay would serve at his restaurant, doesn't mean it's not good. Don't be afraid to visit this place due to its secluded location or my bad picture - I usually do better. it's just that I was so into this sandwich that I completely forgot to take a more appealing photo... you can even see the bites on the one half of the sandwich. Why are you still reading this far down into my review? Just go! make plans for lunch, dinner, or whatever time of the day you want (just check their business hours first). I wish I could tell you the name of the super-friendly and awesome young lady that served us... she was absolutely wonderful and very patient with our group as we looked over the menu and worked hard to decide on what to eat. Even though I can't remember her name, I praise her service, personality, and eagerness to ensure you have a good time while eating good food. Whenever I'm back in Columbus, MS, I will definitely go back to this restaurant. 5 out of 5, solid recommendation.

June 5th was our third time dining here and I have to say we’ve enjoyed it more on previous visits. We encouraged our group of ten camping friends to choose Proffitt’s for dinner. We’re used to casual but I know some were disappointed. They should consider cleaning up the picnic tables or maybe adding tablecloths… or both. I’m sure I will give them another try though.

Very good food and service ....... my seafood sandwich was fresh and delicious. My waitress was very nice and made sure we were well taken care of.

Good food, great atmosphere! I forgot pics of our food, but did get updated menu pictures! I had the club sandwich, and others in my group had the gumbo, roast beef sandwich, and red beans & rice. All was excellent!

On a vacation from Oregon visiting family. Nothing like this around home. Strongly recommend gumbo and red beans and rice. Sooooo good !

Great place for lunch or supper! Nice location(next to a lake) and atmosphere(indoors and out!). Anything you order is top notch and with a smile! Highly Recommended! A+
