When we slip away for the weekend, we refuse to eat at chains. We try to find the hidden gems the locals love. We got in on a Tuesday and found Baudeans close so we headed there for dinner. I ordered the trigger fish and my wife ordered the oyster melts. The fish was good, but the melts were amazing. We then returned because we enjoyed it so much. The parking lot was packed, but the staff was quick. On the second trip, I had the stuffed flounder. It's was amazing. My wife ordered the melts again. I recommend slipping in for a meal...or two.
The bathroom is so clean, and the food is amazing!!! I got the snow crab legs and key lime pie. The crab was seasoned well, and the pie was the creamy sweet kind. The service was great, our waitress was super sweet, and food came out as soon as it was cooked. The kids menus were laminated and they gave the kids dry erase markers. Much more convenient than crayons and they were entertained instead of getting bored. Definitely going on our vacation food stops list!
March 2025 Monday night - All you can eat crab legs. I think we spent around $50 each. With this, you got either gumbo or Cole slaw and then a Salad. The crab legs came out with lemon, a boiled potato and half a corn on the cob. More Crab legs came out within a few minutes of asking for more. Crab legs were steamed and tasty with the butter sauce. Hubby loved the Cole slaw. The gumbo was just ok. I’m from St. Louis, and I enjoy the crab leg boils in a bag out here with all the seasonings. That averages about $35, but it’s not all you can eat. We also got the alligator as an appetizer. I’ve had better at a place in PCB, this was a little chewy, but I think alligator is a chewy meat anyway. Over all It was a nice experience. I would say it’s just too pricey, but I knew that coming in. I loved the lady’s accents here. Our server was very sweet, she was busy but still was able to get us everything we asked for in a timely manner.
The fish was seasoned perfectly just like Uncle Ed would prepare after a four Miller Lites. The only disappointment with the Shrimp was I only received six instead of 46. They were plump and delicious. Great atmosphere. You could tell this was a popular local gathering place. You must eat here.
Food was excellent and the server was sweet! I highly recommend the Alfredo and the fried cheesecake!
Not a high end restaurant, but a good place to eat. Prices are inline with anywhere else. 5 star because our service was excellent. We had 11 people, and she worked with us to split it how we needed to. Even let us do the tip, how we wanted to do that. All good for me. Went back again this year. Still good food. The 2 women working there, I felt bad for. They were almost running trying to keep up. Definitely need more help here.
The food here was absolutely amazing !!!!!!! On the appetizer we had the kaboom shrimp and they was honestly about the best shrimp we have ever had. The large hamburger steak with mashed potatoes was also delicious. Oh and the dessert speak for themselves. Our server was Ms.Debra she was sweet and took really good care of us. I would definitely eat here again without any hesitation. I would give this place 6 starts if that was an option.
We stopped at this quaint little place a while back and WOW! I'm literally known as a very critical "seafood gumbo snob" and this was THE best gumbo I'd had in a restaurant bar none! I ordered the shrimp po'boy and it was loaded with hot, delicious fried shrimp and the bread was excellent. The service is great & the food is excellent! I highly recommend this place.
