First time coming here and kicking myself in the butt for not trying it earlier. We got the bogo shrimp special plate $16.99 and my husband added a drink which totaled to about $22 for two plates of shrimp. The shrimp was lightly batter, not greasy. The hush puppies were crisp on the outside and soft inside. The coleslaw was a good side dish with the fried food. The young lady at the front desk was very pleasant and attentive. This is the spot you should go for fried seafood cravings! We will be back!
We had great service from the young lady there, she did a great job. Very clean and well organized. Oysters are big and the shrimp is fresh! The BBQ vinegar sauce is excellent with a Smokey taste. I will be back to buy a bottle and will be sure to bring cash to tip!
Ate their last week. I had the flounder, shrimp, okra and collards. It was really good and the portions were great. My wife had the shrimp burger and fries. We can’t wait to go back.
Great service and even better food. Very fresh, delicious and large servings
3/3/2026 @ 7:30 A wonderful experience and much needed. We stopped in for dinner, not realizing it was a bit close to closing and we were treated with such respect, by a kind and courteous young lady! Everything was wonderful, especially the service. Thanks again!
I have eaten at Bogue House every time I have been to Emerald Isle for years and I have not had a single bad experience. The food is amazing, the people who work there are amazing, and it has the atmosphere of a local spot that shows you that has been here for a long time. Some people might complain about the prices but for the amount of food you get and how good it is it more than makes up for it. Whether its barbecue, fried chicken, or amazing fried seafood, they have it all. If you're looking for true authenticity then Bogue House is the place to go to.
Great fried shrimp and sides. Very small, quiet little restaurant. Cashier was very helpful and nice. Small shrimp plate is $15 which in a little beach town isn’t too bad.
5-6-23 We drove in from Charleston, SC to stay at a near by campground and decided after a long trip to find some local seafood. This place did not disappoint. Wife ordered Shrimp plate with fries and fried okra, while I ordered Shrimp and Scallops combo with fries and slaw. Both plates were over flowing with golden fried goodness. The seafood was all lightly breaded, tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. You can not go wrong stopping here whenever you are in the area.
