I had the catfish and shrimp.. it was excellent. Not over fried like most restaurants do r under cooked like all oriental places...
If you want food that's tasty, don't go, if you want food that's fast don't go, if you want condiments don't go! Penns has really gone down the drain. The hours and all. I waited over 23 min for the snack this past Sunday.
Penn's just isn't what it used to be in my opinion, it wasn't terrible, just not as good as it used to be as far as I'm concerned. My catfish filets were cold and tasted as if they had been sitting for a while, it definitely wasn't very fresh. Most of the filets were small and they were pretty dry, seems there was more breading than fish with a few of them. Also, the sides were very disappointing as far as portion size goes. This was my first visit to Penn's in a few years, unfortunately I don't think I'll be going back any time soon unless it's a buffet.
Asked them to make me a fried chicken Salad and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! THANKS TO THE AWESOME DRIVE THRU SERVICE!!!!
It was a nice place to have a meal with my mom. Food was hot and servings were generous.
Fun to drive up to the drive-thru and see the WALL OF MENU, painted on the brick. Its massive! Many choices for food but especially side items. It might take time to fulfill your order but they can get busy (went at dinner time). Food was good, but if you want burgers or chicken there are IMO better choices not far away. But if you want catfish or shrimp, this is your place!
Got a chicken on a stick dinner and a catfish dinner with fries and hushpuppies. The chicken on a stick was a nice size and good. Catfish and hushpuppies were really good. The fries were the seasoned kind, which were also good. Food was cooked to order, so it was a 10-15 min wait.
This was my first time at Penn's Fish House, and I'm sure to go again. The fish, fries, hush puppies and Cole slaw was just how I like. As for my drink, I love sweet tea, and when I fixed mine it was freshly made. That's how I like my tea! And i loved the chocolate pie. But most of all, our server was such a sweet girl, very friendly and cheerful.
