We've been hearing about this place since we moved and were happy to get a chance to try it. My husband had the mullet and liked it. My son and I tried the catfish fingers and thought they were good. We didn't care for the room temperature coleslaw. The servers were nice and pretty quick given how busy the place was. The highlight of the meal was paying a visit to the pond out back where we saw an alligator.

Such a fun and delicious experience! This small-town seafood restaurant completely exceeded my expectations. The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor — you can tell they take pride in every dish. The atmosphere is so unique, too. Eating great seafood while watching the gators out in the huge pond made the visit unforgettable and added a cool, adventurous touch you don’t find anywhere else. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area — you won’t be disappointed!

Came here from Virginia and loved it! The gator appetizer was really good! The catfish filet was amazing and seasoned perfectly. I even saw a gator out back after dinner!

I went here a lot as a kid and I still go back now and the food is just as good. Cute environment inside the restaurant and even better outside. The dock is so beautiful and you can almost always spot a baby gator. Love this place and will always give them my business! The fried pickles are amazing! The catfish filet and chicken tenders are really good too.

I used to go there when I was 11 years old with my parents. I am 72 now and during that I have shared the fun and food there with my neighbors and friends and family and my wife really loved it. Now they have all gone to be with the Lord! However Ray's pond in on my bucket list and I will come back to stop and remember the good times we had there! And then I will leave to travel on to Memphis to see Graceland and Elvis! See you soon! Coach Rick Lindsey! Formally from Adel!

Wow, make sure you have your appetite when you arrive. They give you a lot of food at a reasonable price. We arrived when they opened but when we left there was a very long wait outside to get in

Ray’s Mill Pond Café is one of those places that perfectly captures the spirit of a Southern family gathering. Tucked away just outside of Nashville, Georgia, this spot has been a local favorite for years — and it’s easy to see why. The restaurant sits right on the edge of a beautiful pond, giving it a laid-back, rustic atmosphere that feels like stepping into a family backyard rather than a commercial restaurant. When we visited, it wasn’t just the food that made the experience memorable — it was the unexpected excitement. While out on the dock, we spotted a massive alligator gliding through the water. Before long, two men came out to try and catch it, and the whole scene became an impromptu bit of entertainment that had everyone watching from the windows and porch. It was one of those moments that you just can’t plan for but makes the night unforgettable. Inside, the vibe is casual and warm. It’s the kind of place where big families gather, kids run around, and everyone seems to know someone. The food is hearty and comforting — nothing pretentious, just good Southern cooking that hits the spot after a long day. Whether you’re a local or just passing through South Georgia, Ray’s Mill Pond Café offers more than a meal; it’s a snapshot of small-town life, complete with great food, a gorgeous setting, and the kind of stories you end up telling for years afterward.
