I've been going here for years. The crabs are unlike any I've tasted. Absolutely delicious. The waiters are wonderful. Fast and always so kind. Nice cozy home feeling right on the water.
Right on the water, with delicious crabs and other seafood pleasantries. Sandgates has always been my family’s favorite summer spot, especially so we can enjoy some crabs! We keep coming back year after year. An old building with that classic Southern Maryland charm.
In the area for a family wedding. We had a big group for dinner and the restaurant was super accommodating and the service was really good. First time eating Maryland Crabs and it was pretty good. Overall, the place had a good homely feel, good food and solid service. Thank you for a good night!
The food was delicious!! Our server was the sweetest. Very attentive and on the ball even though it was a busy night on Father's Day. They had very reasonable wait times, even without a reservation. And the bar was separated from the resurant which was a nice quiet spot to wait for our table and play some games and pool while having a few drinks. We ate outside and it was lovely and well shaded. Crabs were spot on. Can't wait to come back!
Got seated immediately after a horrible experience with seabreeze restaurant, food was out fast and very good. Service was great. This is the first time ever having blue crab, it seems a bit salty but we are on the east coast. Lol
Everyone's food was really great, delicious fish and shellfish dishes. The crab cake sandwich had very generous portions, and I wish it had been a little more flavorful. The atmosphere was very charming and homey, pretty family friendly. There was a porch with great views of the water and a comfortable breeze.
OMG The food and our server Debbie were excellent! Gigi was also soooo helpful with our party's reservation! Will definitely be back here again!
This was my first time eating in and the service was every but of GREAT! My server was kind and she even warned me about dishes that weren't favored. Even my food arrived it was hot, great portions and tastes better then I expected. I'd DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone wanting a waterfront experience to eat great tasting food. The ONLY gripe is at all would be that an order of fries to eat with crabs isn't a larger enough portion but, no one goes to eat just for fries so I'm not complaining. I'd give Sandgates a 8. out of 10
