im so happy to have found this hidden gem. best sushi place ive ever had in the city. imagine thinking ten sushi is good and then eating at sushi eki. WOW i travel from the other side of the city to come all the way to kanata and i happily spend 80-100$ here everytime! plus they have free water & green tea and unlimited ginger and wasabi, and they take there time with the food. amazing!
Pretty good overall! The salmon teriyaki showed up glazed and confident, the gyoza had that satisfying crunch–soft combo, and the miso soup? Great flavor, but no spoon. Just chopsticks. I guess character development was included with the meal. Would order again… but next time, I’m bringing my own spoon like a seasoned veteran.
The sushi here is amazing. Fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully made. There’s a great selection and they offer plenty of vegetarian options alongside their regular rolls. From classic favorites to creative plant-based choices, everything tastes fresh and well balanced. Easily one of the top 3 sushi places in Ottawa, and definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.
Oh my word, I LOVE sushi and this place is DELICIOUS. Fish is FRESH, the options are in big quantities and creative. By far my favorite sushi restaurant overall for the past 15 years. The place is small tho, total sitting around 24 people, but oh word...sooooo good!
Can’t complain at all. The sushi was fresh, tasty, and well put together, and my order was prepared quickly without feeling rushed or sloppy. Everything came out exactly as expected, making it a smooth and easy experience overall. Definitely a solid option when you’re looking for good sushi and efficient service.
The sushi was very fresh and flavorful. The BBQ eel on rice was great – there was a generous amount of eel on top. However, I wouldn’t recommend the Takoyaki; there wasn’t much octopus inside. It would be better if green tea were served, like in traditional Japanese restaurants.
Good sushi for the price point. Awesome addition to Kanata for sushi. I usually order online and pick up. Fish quality is good, consistency is there whenever I order. I like their toched sushi a lot but also like their rolls as well. If you order their Bento sets it's a good portion. I do think if you order their eel rolls they are small rolls, but I think this is happening across the city in all the sushi places I've had! If you're ordering for dinner on weekends I would suggest giving some extra leeway as I usually end up waiting at least 10-20 min after my intended/requested pick up time. They get slammed during peak hours and it gets a little disorganized since there isn't an obvious queue. With how busy it gets and how many people are waiting, sometimes you end up getting jumped in the queue by other people who don't really care. That's not really in the staff if they don't see it happening but maybe a better system for pickups / dine in / ordering needs to be done. Right now it's just hovering over the counter in the "L" shape and it feels like I'm at a busy club bar some nights when I pick up lol. As a side note, tea and water are self serve via a little cooler at the counter which adds to the foot traffic. But I also appreciate the hot tea! That being said, staff are kind! The owner is very smiley and upbeat despite how insane it can get there. Always super sweet!
The food tastes amazing and fresh. The place is so clean and the customer service is really good.if you want a good sushi experience make sure to check it out.
