Sushi Nanaimo serves tasty rolls on Hastings and Nanaimo street. I like the Alaska rolls and house rolls. There's seating inside the restaurant, but you might end up waiting for a table as it will fill up depending on the time of day.
Sushi Nanaimo is a local gems you keep going back to, and for good reason. The portions here are generous, the prices are fair, and the quality is always spot on. The sashimi is fresh and flavourful, with thick, satisfying cuts that really make the difference. Just look at that beautiful chirashi bowl packed with salmon, tuna, tai, tamago, tako, and tobiko. Mix in their korean spicy sauce and mix. Every bite tastes like a flavour explosion. If raw fish isn’t your thing, there’s still lots to love. Their takoyaki is crispy on the outside, soft and piping hot inside, topped with just the right amount of mayo, sauce, and bonito flakes. It hits all the comfort food notes. The Ramen has a great savoury taste and chewy noodles. Cozy vibes, great food, and a satisfying feeling after every visit. Can’t wait to come back to try their other items!
It was my first time visiting the place, I had a fast 30 min lunch break and felt like having something with no much guilt. I had the seaweed salad and the spicy salmon combo. Everything was smelling and tasting amazing and fresh. To be fully honest, I did not expect the combo to be THAT spicy, but that's on me, I have a very sensitive tummy and am not really supposed to have any spicy food. Next time no hot spices for me. Besides that, for all salmon lovers lile myself, maybe swap the cucumber roll with something else. Services was nice, good set of options for different budgets. Will definitely visit again and order new things to try!
Food was delicious as always, service was ok. We ordered a variety of special rolls and have to say the Gangster roll was one of our favourites! We also tried their Tonkatsu ramen and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was and for a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend trying!
I came here for the past 20 years. Still very good value and the portions are huge. Overall 4 stars
