Very good food I love all the food I got from there so far and the service is good too clean place and the foods taste really good I like it
Every time I come to Philly I stop by and grab myself and egusi soup with turkey meat only and fu-fu and they are kind enough to make it especially that way upon my request. Staff are always kind and food is always yummy
March 2023: I am still dreaming of the cassava from last time....but my goodness the jerk chicken is amazing!!! So flavorful, juicy, and tender. January 2023: Ordered here for the first time from uber this evening and my goodness, it really hit the spot! They didn't have any meat pies today but left a nice note letting me know and included plenty of goodies to make up for it. I have a new go-to restaurant, and I highly recommend it to others .
Great place for authentic African meals. The collard greens have much kick(spicy) to them but they are very good. All of my visits have been pleasant and Ive received good meals.
I recommend a lot of different dishes from this restaurant. My favorite is the potato greens the fried red snapper curry chicken and jerk chicken. I love their jollof rice and their fried rice is the best.
It was a great experience. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. She was very patient with me asking a lot of questions. I ordered fried plantain and beef pie and she also gave me a little pasta to try. She brought my food out to my table. Also she makes this sauce called shito that’s a homemade recipe from Ghana, it takes 7 hours just to prep. Highly recommended if you can handle the heat!!!
The curry and jerk chicken were quite good. Tender, not too dry, and packed with flavor. The jollof rice was a bit dry, wished it was more saucy since it's tomato based, but flavor was still good. The mac n cheese was like childhood mac n cheese. Scrumptious.
The food was delicious!!! I had potato greens and my daughter had Egusi, both with fufu. We’ve tried other places and they were trash compared to this place. Especially the fufu, the texture from Mama Shan was way better that the other place and didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Ordered through DoorDash and the delivery was very fast considering the distance from my house. We will definitely order again
The picture is not doing justice to the food. I was happy with my cassava leaf platter. The merchant was also very welcoming. Adding this place to my top 10 African restaurants in Philly
Can't beat the quality, price ratio here. No thrills but bold flavors, serious heat if you want it- while the stew and jallof flavors are too good on their own. Great service and nice people here. I'll be back to try more plates for sure. Gotta come hungry af with these portion sizes, just be ready to nap after
I get the Ghana style waakye and it always be good. Definitely recommend this place to anyone. Also they on uber eat.
