From Long Island and go to great adventure a lot lol. I pass by this spot every time and I finally stopped in this summer, July 4th weekend and the service and food were great. It was maybe 90 degrees out but I really wanted to sit outside in the patio (great lake view and umbrellas for shade). They accommodated that but I DID tell the server my order quickly so she didn't have to be outside long! I don't remember her name, but she was awesome! Food was great, the lake view was really nice and the staff was super friendly. I will definitely be back and probably sit inside if its still super hot lol.
The Happy Apple Inn is a charming getaway with an unbeatable location right next to the river, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. The natural beauty surrounding the inn makes it an ideal spot to unwind, whether you're enjoying a quiet morning coffee or watching the sunset over the water. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with a rustic charm that adds to the overall experience. The service is friendly and attentive, making guests feel right at home. While the food has room for improvement, it is still above average, with a selection that complements the cozy, inviting setting. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with beautiful scenery and a great atmosphere, The Happy Apple Inn is a wonderful choice. Whether you're visiting for a weekend getaway or just stopping by for a meal, the combination of nature, hospitality, and charm makes it a memorable destination.
Food and service was phenomenal!! Our waitress was Anna, and she was perfect! She came to the table frequently to check on us. The salad bar was so fresh and was kept very clean! Our entrees came out hot and crispy but were still so moist!! Also, portions were just enough! The views of the lake are stunning! We’ll be back!
On the corner of where Imlaystown Rd tee intersects (on a hard carve) with Davis Station Rd., sits the Happy Apple Inn in the center of old Imlaystown. The Happy Apple Inn, sits right on Imlaystown Lake. It's just off the road with little frontage and the intersection is interesting, so Slow Down! There is space for several cars in front and just past the Inn there are two parking lots at the Happy Apple Inn wood sign, on both sides of the road. Paking lots are both dirt, not striped and no designated handicap slots. Unknown condition with rain and/or frozen. Depending on time of day and season, be careful cars can be moving fast, it's a tight road and people tend to park without a care for the next person. From the outside you are looking at a old house with the sign Happy Apple Inn letting you know you found it. Inside is waiting an awesome Restaurant in a fantastic well maintained historic building! A welcoming old school dining house atmosphere, with back in the day decor and a bar. This is the way it was back when a Inn had a dining room for guests and the general public when space allowed. This type of dining is often in books and movies but not often found. So now the food. First be aware there is a salad bar and bread station tucked away where you can not see it. It is unlimited and offers a nice selection (see photos), so plan your meal accordingly to accommodate for this! The table is set formal but the attire is casual. Keep in mind, this is a very nice place for a dining experiences from just a meal to a romantic date, so dress appropriately, yes. The menu is slightly limited but loaded with first class meals for this price range. Our meals were absolutely marvelous, cooked and seasoned just right and good portion size. Wait staff was friendly, professional and attentive. Did not order alcoholic beverages and no space for dessert, which is a separate menu. The bar and outside (when weather allows) seating has a separate menu. There is a handicap accessible universal bathroom available on first floor and additional male and female bathrooms on the second floor. On the second floor is also space for private events with it's own bar area. Enjoyed all. Not 5 star because of parking. And Also note men's room located 2nd floor top of stairs, does have a lock, not the door or the stall. I advised hostess. Apparently owner is renovating or repairing and will get to it. Maybe there will be a lock soon? We all have different experiences and this one is mine.
Rustic restaurant by water. Limited parking but cute inside. Food is solid mid tier restaurant fare. Grilled salmon and stuffed chicken breast were good. Their twice baked potato is really good and the salad bar is small but offers nice variety and very good potato salad and coleslaw. Mixed drink i ordered was lackluster (blueberry mojito came without the blueberries muddled so the blueberries just floated around and added no flavor. Also drink had too much rum so it wasnt balanced. Maybe if the berries were muddled it wouldve been better) Service was slow for our party (took about an hour or so for food. We had about 30 people) but when the food came it was all at the same time and hot so that was good. If you want a solid straight forward meal and salad bar Happy Apple Inn is good for that.
I have never written a review before, but I just felt compelled after reading Brenda’s review below me. I was here for the first time last weekend and let me tell you, this place was incredible. From the food to the staff, to the decor, not one bad thing I can say about this place. All I gotta say is, I don’t know what Brenda’s got going on with her, but whatever she said is completely wrong. This place was incredible. We’ll definitely be coming back here.
Old stage coach house with good food and good service! Very quaint place.
It was clearly very busy mid day. We didn’t have a reservation but the staff was very accommodating and friendly! The food was very good and fresh. The duck was cooked perfectly, as was the filet. Will definitely return.
