Nine years ago my wife and I discovered a little bit of small town America that embodies " all " of what endears us to Bardstown Kentucky in a quaint wonderful restaurant run by Pat . As an added bonus you also may have the good fortune to be served by one of the twins, her adult twin daughters who work there. If Bardstown could be distilled into a lunch dining experience this would be it. Its like going back into time when America was filled with friendly wonderful little places like this all across the land. Their burgers are also delicious and filling. They are one of the cleanest tasting hamburgers on the planet. Whenever I long to see, feel and experience good food with a generous helping of hospitality dating back to our American roots I eat here with my wife. Somehow it resets me and makes the world seem more normal. Much like the old sitcom years ago, this is a place like Cheers, where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came.

I stopped by Pat’s Place for lunch and enjoyed a bourbon burger during my visit. It’s a charming little diner with quick service and a pleasantly sized menu. The bourbon burger, while messy, was delicious. That sauce has a little sweetness and a lot of flavor that really amps up the beef patty. I was very satisfied with my meal. I’d definitely recommend this spot if you’re hungry, in the area, and are looking for something a bit more low key.

I was in the mood for diner food, and boy did I find it! The service and friendliness was on point. The food was almost perfect. We had the club, mushroom swiss burg and the grilled cheese burg, with onion rings. Everything tasted really good. But the onion rings were not at all battered well enough. I would love to come back..

Pat's is a nice local restaurant in the heart of downtown Bardstown, with lots of little shops and eateries nearby. It has quaint decor, friendly service, and good food. My wife and I both had burgers, which were pretty tasty. Our only disappointment was that we arrived on a Saturday morning around 11 am with visions of brunch dancing in our heads--but were then told that breakfast stops being served at 10:30. Brunch (or all-day breakfast) should be a thing at a diner. C'est la vie.

Get the onion rings and grilled cheese cheeseburger! Recommended by a friend, this place rocks! Their grilled cheese cheeseburger was the bomb but I also loved their onion rings just as much! Sweet tea was superb and atmosphere was good also. Staff were super nice and helpful. If you're interested in soaps and lotions the store next door Making Good Scents has an incredible selection of locally made soaps, lotions, and candles to check out too.

If you’re looking for a true hidden gem in the heart of downtown Bardstown, Pat’s Place is it! This family-owned, mom-and-pop diner nails that old-school atmosphere with warm hospitality and classic comfort food done right. The soup is homemade and packed with rich, comforting flavors—just like something your grandma would make. Their chicken tenders are hand-breaded, crispy, and perfectly juicy, proving that simple, well-made food is always the best. The burgers are everything a diner burger should be: fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And let’s talk about their epic Bloody Mary—it’s not just a drink, it’s an experience! Loaded with bold flavors and all the right garnishes, it’s a must-try for anyone who loves a good cocktail with personality. Pat’s Place is the kind of spot that makes you feel at home the second you walk in. The friendly service, cozy vibe, and downright delicious food make it a Bardstown staple. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a place you don’t want to miss!
