The Captain’S Seat At Prairie Creek Marina

This is not the old JJ’s and it is not intended to be. It is no frills pub type grub and the food was just what we needed. Walk and order and they bring the food out. You can eat inside or out. Pretty much get your own drink. Keep the craft beer stocked and will be in there for your food.

7/16/25 - We stopped in at The Captain’s Seat in Prairie Creek on a Wednesday evening around 5pm. After placing our order, just a few minutes later the manager, Sean, came by and let us know they had run out of propane due to a vendor delivery issue. As a small business owner myself, I completely understand these things happen. Sean went above and beyond to make it right. Not only did he refund our full bill, but he also made sure we didn’t leave hungry—offering us a selection of fresh wraps on the house. We tried the chicken, bacon, and ranch wraps along with a few other options, and they really hit the spot. Things don’t always go as planned in business, but how you handle it matters most. Sean handled it perfectly with great customer service and generosity. Kudos to Sean and his staff for doing the right thing and putting customers first. We will definitely be back!

We love the Captains Seat! Such good food. The people are friendly too. The fish and chips are amazing, cheese curds and pesto chicken all amazing.

After reading the reviews, I was sceptical about coming here, but my husband was determined to check it out. We ordered fish & chips and onion rings … and let me add that everything is better with beer! We dined outside and enjoyed the atmosphere of the lake and the beautiful sky (which was on fire!). I would recommend getting out of the house and coming down to The Captain’s Seat with someone’s company that you’d enjoy! We will be back!

We were in the area on a Thursday afternoon and gave it try. Food was fast and great taste. Service was friendly. We had Cheeseburger, Cajun Wings, Cheese Nuggets, and Chicken Tenders with fries. All was very good. It is located in the main part of the Marina. I does not have any signs, but we saw the tables inside. Lakeview is to the sides towards the slips. Prices are higher, but they are on the lake so to be expected. There is no kids' menu, but our kids split an adult meal.

Great food and indoor or outdoor seating. Right on the water.

Pretty good food. Great if you’re camping or boating at Prairie Creek. A little hard to find if you don’t know it’s actually located on the floating Marina.

Good value and portion sizes. Nice place to eat on the lake
