Went on Valentines Day for their Surf n Turf for 2 for $49.95. Plenty of food for 2 people!! We took my best friend and her husband as they have never been there before. The food was really good, hence giving a 4 star review. The service is what took the rating down. The only suggestion I have is, if you (Hale Tap) does this next year, have a better way of checking people in!! I called and made reservations on 2/6 for 4 people. Called 2/13 to confirm reservations. I gave them my last name and they confirmed our time and the number in our party, so I know they had it. We get there, they can’t find our name or reservation. The people ahead of us had the same problem. We did get seated, but told we had an hour to eat as the table was reserved. By the time we got our food, we had about 15-20min to eat. Shortly after we got our food, the waitress brought us “to go boxes”. Next year, designate a hostess where they can stand at a table/podium and have a book of everyone’s name/reservation time and the number in your party. We will definitely be back, but will most likely not be back for a special event. Very poorly planned.

We tried the hail tap for the first time on Saturday afternoon. Our waitress, although we did not get her name was amazing and brought us our drinks and food promptly. I ordered the fish and my husband ordered the steak sandwich. We both got salads, which were huge. The food was served fresh and hot. We are looking forward to our next trip.

Food and service were both great! I had the tenderloin, wife had the steak sandwich. Also had the pea salad (not pictured), it was the best ever. No waiting, even though the parking lot was full. We'll be back!

We've gone to this place off and on over the last 16 years and it still "slaps" as the kids say these days you cant beat their prime rib! the staff are always friendly and attentive! Worth the drive, every time!

I highly recommend having a meal and drink at this establishment. Good food , good service and and a great atmosphere. This is a restaurant/ bar in the middle of nowhere. This restaurant is a hidden gem that will not disappoint .

Well worth the hour drive. First time going there this evening. Parking was a non issue for us, got there just after 5pm, we left around 6pm, parking lot was filling up, but it is a pretty large parking lot. Our server was lovely, very sweet and attentive enough and knowledgeable. Food was scrumptious, we ordered the 5 appetizer, for 4 of us, we were quite full after that. My son and I ordered dinners (all you can eat Alaskan Walleye & Broasted Chicken)so we got the salad bar, quite nice, with a lot of choices - the beef and veg soup was very good, not impressed with the bread rolls though. Daughter and husband ordered the gutbuster - HUGE - massive, neither could finish, husband made his a platter. Prices were great, with tax it was around $87 (not including the tip we left) for 4 people with largest appetizers, and 4 full to-go boxes! We find this to be very reasonable, especially for how good the food was and portion sizes Very impressed with this teeny spot on the map, I see now how they have won awards! Will definitely make the hour long drive again, hopefully not through storms next time

We came for the prime rib dinner which included choice of potato and all you can eat soup and salad bar. They take pride in their salad bar and it shows. There were plenty of choices. The baked potato came on a separate plate which I appreciated and had ample amounts of butter and sour cream. The prime rib was cooked perfect and rested on a pool of aus jus. The wait staff greated us warmly and was very attentive. We will definitely be back!!!
