Omg, if you want chicken like your mawmaw use to cook then you have to try Miller's. I had never been before and was shocked at how long they have been doing amazing chicken. We got 2 chicken breast, slaw, mac&cheese and old time mash potatoes with chicken gravy. This was definitely a finger lickin moment and we will definitely be back. For desert we had the homemade cheesecake and it was delicious.
Behind the counter is an old school menu board with a long list of delicious choices at reasonable prices. To the left there's a large glass case with homemade sides such as macaroni salad, four bean salad and delicious desserts to name a few. It's as if a favorite aunt decided to open a restaurant and serve the family classics daily. The reason it's worth the drive is because it's not easy to find a place that makes fried chicken that tastes like what a loved one you still miss used to make it in their cast iron skillet on top of the stove. The crispy fried chicken here unlocks a flavor memory for a lot of us and that's not so easy to find these days. For the decor, think unpretentious, practical and family friendly. Enjoy the fact the history of this restaurant is displayed. Be glad that there are still places like this one with good food, good prices, local pride and handcrafted wreath on the hearth. I wouldn't change a thing.
Perfect quintessential Ohio restaurant. There really needs to be more like this. Forget fast food this is where it’s at. My chicken tenders were really good and brought back plenty of nostalgia from tenders of years ago. I liked the honey mustard packs they used it had a slight kick which was nice. Green beans done right and properly seasoned and the potatoes were a a 10/10. Staff was super friendly and the restaurant was very clean. This is an older building and you can tell how dedicated they are to keeping the place clean. Will def. Make a stop anytime I’m near Athens.
The food was all homemade and was piping hot and fresh. Definitely a nice little gem of a find. The mashed potatoes and homemade broth gravy with homemade biscuits are definitely a win win.
I took my family here to experience their first Miller’s Chicken. The chicken was cooked well and delightfully crispy. The fries satisfied the kids, but weren’t anything special. The pasta salad was alright, but we didn’t eat the last bit because there was so much dressing. Good experience overall though, and we would definitely go again.
I’ve been going to Miller’s for probably 24 years. I don’t live in Athens anymore, but I always make it a point to get to Miller’s for some hot wings and a super chicken sandwich. The quality of everything they make is top notch and the service is always friendly. I hope this place never goes away.
Classic chicken sandwich in good old-timey atmosphere. I'd come here more often if my gut could handle the deep fry. Excellent chicken. Good cutlery.
Everything they make is very good. Seems like it's always busy and it's because of the service and the food. They have small containers you can buy there sides of. It's definitely a place I can recommend because it is cheaper and good food. EDIT: The staff at miller's chicken really cares about there regulars. Everyday I walk outside around lunch time and the air is filled with delicious smelling food. They will take orders of food well in advance and save it for you. Definitely a one of a kind restaurant experience. They have the best ham egg and cheese iv ever had.
