I went here with a friend for lunch and enjoyed ourselves. The food was great, but took a very long time to come. We were waiting for over 40 minutes for two entrees when restaurant was more than half empty. The waitress was a bit sassy and hard to flag down, but overall had a good vibe. The live music was a nice touch.
With all due respect to Karon Liu of The Star, he got it wrong. The best fish and chips in Roncesvalles is here...The Local. The kitchen is doing phenomenal work and I had the best fish and chips here last Friday. Kudos to Erica. Aside from that, this is my go-to place for a good pint, double scotch, and truly chill, local vibes. So, head to The Local for an overall great experience...but ask for the catch of the day. You won't regret it.
I work right across the street from this place. Its one of the best places for live music in the area. Drinks are cold. The new menu is much better. This place is a gem in the area. Staff is also wonderful. Places like this are what make our city alive .
There was a blackout last week in the area and they handled it beautifully! Kept the people happy & lit the space with candles. Didn’t kick people out, just let time do its thing before the lights went on. I love the ambience- it has a retro old school warmth to it with their VCR players and cozy corners throughout the space to have an intimate convo.
Fantastic place, was recommended to me and it lives up to it. Service was great, my old fashioned was well made, and a good selection of beers. The was no live music when I went but from what I hear, they do have good acts and I shall most likely be going back to catch some. The fish and chips was really good too!
My band played here on a Wednesday night. Everyone had a great time! The stage is very small but we somehow crammed in as a five piece. The bartender, Mike, is super nice and did an excellent job of helping out with the sound mix.
This bar rules. It’s an awesome spot, with a warm feel inside, great music, cozy seats and a good selection of beverages. Food is regular pub food. I have been here a few times and will always recommend to friends! Also a great combination to grab a beverage pre or post a visit to the Revue theatre next door!
