Derrick's Bbq

The service is very welcoming and great! The food well it's slap ya momma good! I did learn that the next time I go I'm ordering the smallest burger because I ordered a double and could only eat a quarter of it because it was huge! Best fried pickles I ever had too.

This was my first visit to Derrick's BBQ. Keirlynn was my server and she did a fine job. The pulled pork was an ample portion (sorry, I ate most of it before I took a picture!). The sides were piping hot and the green beans were bacon seasoned and delicious. The bake beans also had pork in them. The salad was fresh, but I thought the Italian dressing was a little bland. After I mixed it into the salad, though, it was just right, without an overpowering vinegar taste. They also have a sirloin steak special Thursday evenings at a reasonable price, which I'll try in the future. Keirlynn also said the Wednesday night real mashed potatoes and gravy are great... I guess I'll have to come back to try them too! Although desserts are not listed on the menu, they serve pineapple upside down cake and several other items.

The waitress and cashier was on point. Our food was brought out quickly and tasted amazing. The price and portions are better than any other BBQ place around. Definitely going back. Highly recommended.

I eat here once every couple of weeks. The food is generally pretty darn good. Occasionally the ribs are lacking, not in taste but the cut of meat (this happens at all BBQ restaurants). The sliced meats (beef, pork and turkey) are all very good and usually moist. The smoked chicken is excellent as well. The loaded potato's are really good, but more of a lunch size portion in my opinion. The salads are huge you will not be disappointed with one of their salads (Got to get it with their ranch dressing!!). Redneck nacho's are massive and delicious. Thursday they have a steak special that is super tasty and priced right. Service has always been top notch. 10/5/22 added new menu pics. Some prices did go up. 6/24/23 added new menu pics and left the old so you can see the price changes. Some prices did go up again. Also tried the brisket today (my first time trying brisket), I'm not a fan of it.

Derrick’s BBQ has been in a staple in Live Oak for quite some time. It sits in a no frills shopping center and feels slightly like a time capsule walking inside. I got the Porkgasm sandwich, with pulled pork on toasted sourdough. The sandwich came with an incredible amount of pulled pork - which is definitely more on the gristly side, however I was able to ignore the fattiest pieces given how much pork I got. Overall it was a great sandwich. Their baked beans were absolutely amazing as well.

The food is Awesome n family owned... it's a must try if ya haven't... or your gunna have dreams of NOT getting none... hahaha....

I had a large double cheeseburger, a loaded baked potato, and a side of fries. I recommend it.
