Our first time at the Cannery Café and it was excellent. All of the staff were friendly, especially Cece We asked about her recommendations and both were delicious. We ordered the Rosti with the Avocado add on, and a Benedict with smoked salmon. The Rosti was crispy and the Avocado was delicious. The grilled focaccia base for the Benedict was a unique variation. Our coffees were hot and topped up a few times by the attentive staff. Would give 6 stars if it was possible! Definitely going to return to the Cannery Café.
If you’re looking for a reliable brunch spot in Steveston, this place delivers on all fronts. They have an extensive menu but i recommend the platter for 2. There's an option to add an extra person if there's 3 of you. Genuinely massive portion that’s ideal for sharing and if you are hungry. Everyone at the table gets a bit of everything. The drinks hold their own as well. My black coffee was straightforward and well brewed, while my friends ordered the house-famous hot chocolate. The space itself works well for longer visits. Service was solid and attentive without hovering, and there's WiFi if you are tourist. There's free parking at the back which is a bonus. There's an outdoor patio available during the summer. Overall, it’s a dependable, crowd-friendly brunch destination that I’d confidently recommend—especially if you’re dining with family or visiting Steveston.
Had a lovely experience here. I am came alone for a coffee and some brunch after seeing the menu online. The brunch paella was amazing! There was WiFi that had a good connection too. My coffee was great and they made lovely milk art. I couldn’t finish everything so they put it all in a to-go box and a takeaway cup for my coffee. Great stop for brunch :)
Was looking to celebrate with a friend for a birthday brunch and decided to revisit this place. Food is pretty good with the exception of the lobster tail being too salty. Honestly not worth the extra money for lobster, but everything else was fine and enjoyable. Service was pretty standard nothing to note...a solid 4. Atmosphere a 5 for the good vibes outdoors and indoors.
super cute and has quite a bit of indoor and patio seating. Large menu, I tried the sweet + salty which was French toast with egg + bacon. This was very very good. Perfect French toast and not too sweet. Also had the avocado eggs benedict which was a decent portion size and came with potatoes. There was no wait even on a weekend lunch and food was quick to come out.
Love the Cannery Cafe!! Delicious food, excellent service, super friendly and accommodating staff.. Oh, and they allow dogs on their outdoor patio! You definitely won’t leave hungry as the portions are very generous. I highly recommend this Steveston gem!
We visited this great cafe and were not disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. We ordered and a salmon and eggs benny, americano, hot chocolate. The experience was excellent. I’d definitely recommend the cafe to everyone including those OUAT fans.
June 30, 2025: Day 4 of British Columbia trip: having special lunch at Cannery Cafe aka “Once Upon a Time” TV show’s iconic Granny’s Diner for Day 4 lunch in Steveston, Richmond, British Columbia, Canada . We ordered Smoked Salmon & Garlic Prawns Rösti (Swiss food ), Duck Carbonara Udon, House Tuna Salad & their special Granny’s Hot Chocolate and every single thing we ordered here are delicious! Wow! Came here for “Once Upon a Time”, which is one of my favourite TV series of all time, and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food here is! It’s so amazing to finally be able to come to the real life filming location for the show! The photos from the show on the wall were a nice nostalgia and touch. Recommended for sure!
