Nice place to celebrate a birthday dinner. We ordered the 6 oz wagyu, beef carpaccio, French onion soup, and the New York striploin, everything tasted great. Our server recommended the beef carpaccio and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Service was good overall; my only complaint is that the space is quite small. When they do tableside service (like the tableside salad), it takes up most of the walkway and can feel pretty crowded with not much room to move around. Aside from that, the atmosphere is really nice and it was still an enjoyable experience.

Service at Black and Blue was phenomenal. Our server was prompt and knowledgeable, guiding us through the steak menu with confidence and even presenting the cuts of meat before we ordered,a level of detail that made choosing feel informed, not intimidating. The atmosphere was spacious and comfortable, and notably not too loud, which made it easy to enjoy conversation without feeling crowded or rushed. We had the Canadian Prime striploin and the A5 Wagyu striploin, along with Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, a Caesar salad, and beef carpaccio. Each dish arrived at the right time and in proper sequence, which kept the pace of the meal comfortable and enjoyable. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the Wagyu in particular was soft and tender in a way that justified every calorie. The sides complemented the mains without overpowering them. We were there for a birthday and were treated to complimentary drinks and a cake, which elevated the experience further. Our waiter had great instincts, knowing exactly when to check in and when to give us space. It’s quite expensive, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended for anniversaries, birthdays, or any special occasion where both food and service matter.

First time at Black+Blue and the food was just amazing. Came for a happy hour and was so impressed with the quality and taste of the food. The lady at the bar (forgot her name- had red hair and a brow piercing- so sorry!) was an extraordinary server/bartender. Very kind and went above and beyond to make our experience great. We tasted almost one of everything from the happy hour bites and the nacho tower with the chilli sauce was one of the highlights. The lobster roll and the aged beef in the sliders were also standouts.

I’ve dined at Black+Blue on King Street twice this year, and both visits were through their set menus—each experience was great. The first time, we had the Wagyu Dinner for Two, and the second visit was during Summerlicious, where we upgraded the steak to wagyu. In both cases, the quality of the steak truly stood out—beautifully cooked, rich, and incredibly satisfying. I also really enjoyed the wagyu beef carpaccio, which was delicate, well-balanced, and full of flavor. The service was friendly, polished, and attentive, making it a great choice for both business dinners and date nights. The chic and sophisticated vibe adds to the overall experience without feeling overly formal. If there’s a wait for a table, stopping by the bar for a drink is a pleasant way to begin the evening. Overall, Black+Blue remains a reliable and impressive steakhouse in downtown Toronto.

We had yet another outstanding dinner at Black and Blue—one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The steak was perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and paired beautifully with the fresh sides. The scallops were outstanding!!! Still thinking about that bite. What truly elevated the experience was our server, Suzy, who was warm, very attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on and made the evening feel special. Highly recommend!

Came here on a Wednesday night to celebrate a birthday. I was surprised to see how busy it was on a weekday but there was enough staff on the floor. We ordered the table side steak tartare (unable to upload the video for some items), seafood tower, seared scallops, the porterhouse, crispy brussel sprouts, wagyu fried rice, lobster mash and their special buttercake. The steak tartare was the best red meat tartare we’ve ever had. The wagyu fried rice was also a top two for us as well (it was a side so the portion was smaller). We did expect a little more seafood for the price we paid for the tower, but everything was fresh. Service was amazing. All the food came out hot and in a timely manner. The menu is on the pricer side but the quality and flavours of the food was on point. Would recommend others to come try this place if it is within your budget and you are looking to celebrate something or someone special.

Everything was perfectly created and delivered. The service, food and atmosphere were all exceptional 10’s. Everything we ordered was delivered fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The service was that rare perfect blend between professional and just the right notch of friendliness. I wish there was something I could suggest to make it even better. But you’ve all nailed it. We’ll recommend and be back. Thanks for a fantastic dining experience (X2!).

Thank you to the amazing team at Black + Blue for making my birthday so special and memorable! We had the best time enjoying their food, drinks and the ambience with the holiday music to set the festive mood. They surprised me with a cake, and a card as well, and everything about my time at this restaurant made me smile! Their staff was some attentive, patient and friendly! I’ll surely return to order that butter rum cake because it was divine!!!
