Black Dog Bistro

We had an incredible dinner at Black Dog Bistro in Manotick! From the moment we arrived, Jackson was a fantastic server — friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations that truly elevated our meal. We ordered the lamb and the lobster mac and cheese, and both were absolutely delicious. The dishes were perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. For dessert cocktails, the espresso martini and the chocolate peanut butter cup were the perfect way to end the evening — rich, smooth, and so satisfying. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or just enjoying a cozy Friday night out, this place is a gem. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and will definitely be back soon to try more of the menu!

I came with my mom last night for the first time, and we had such a wonderful experience! Our waitress, Liv, was absolutely exceptional — friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The food here is amazing — every dish was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. Compliments to the chef! We’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed our meal. Will go back and try other dishes. The staff was great from the hostess to the server to the bartender. Steak sandwich was good, Caesar salad to start was average. The ceiling beams are a fantastic feature.

This was our first time here but won’t be our last! We had a really great meal started with French onion soup & I had the fitness lab steak salad my fiancé had the Caesar salad & the crispy chicken sandwich. All of it was delicious ! Our server Costa was extremely kind! The food came out slowly but that’s to be expected for a busy Saturday night! I would definitely recommend you try it out !!

I love this place! The staff are amazing, very friendly and knowledgeable. Beautiful inside, and while I haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy a meal or drink in the patio yet, it’s huge! Easy to get to, lots of parking on the street.

My husband and I had a wonderful late lunch today! The food was fantastic!! I had the Cajun salmon salad and he had the open faced steak sandwich. The salmon was insanely delicious and the salad was beautifully done with mixed greens and fresh veggies and a feta dressing that is to die for. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly to his liking (medium) and was excellent. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We had the choice of dining on the covered patio or inside in the dining room. We chose the dining room as it was super hot out so we appreciated the air conditioned escape from the heat. This was my second time eating here and it never disappoints. A must visit if you’re in the area!

My husband and I came here for dinner after our wedding 3 years ago and now we come very year for our anniversary. Always impressed by the service, atmosphere, and delicious food. I recommend the Black Dog Burger (best burger you'll ever eat). This restaurant is not TOO fancy and not TOO casual. It's the the perfect combination of sophistication and comfort.

It is more than a bistro! I had a lunch with a business team and it was very good. Positioned in the heart of Manotick, with plenty of street parking in front of the place. The joint is pleasantly done, with woodden beams in the dining area. It would be nice if the fireplace was running, as it was a chilly day and felt a bit cold inside. Burgers are excellent, pork ribs even better. Nicely done roast potatoes and soup of the day was just the right size. If you are in Manotick area, check this place out.
