The Best AUTHENTIC and most delicious Myanmar (Burmese) Restaurant ever in California!!!!! I tried this Restaurant during my visit to San Francisco , from LA, and it's superb!! The taste of all items are so tasty and authentic that I felt as if I were back to Myanmar and as if I were having home-cooked food by my aunts or mother!! MUST TRY : 1. Fried noodles (trust me, you would wanna have it again and again!) 2. Nan Gyi salad ( real authentic Myanmar taste and home made salad taste ) 3. Chicken curry : First time ever in California that I have tasted a chicken dish with full of taste flown inside the whole meat!! Kudos to the chef Aunty Jasmine! Normally, in previous Restuarants in USA or Singapore, I couldn't eat much meat if I order a curry or dish , since the marinated sauce/taste didn't go into the meat and , the meat was too raw or blurred taste. Here, at Ar Har Ya Restaurant, it meets and exceeds my expectations ! Ar Har Ya dishes and selling menus PASSED my exam with High Distinctions!! Do give it a try, you'll keep coming back to Ar Har Ya again & again!
Very authentic Burmese food. Mon hin Khar was cooked from scratch and it’s a must try. Coconut noodles was one of the best we have had locally. Will come back to try tealeaf salad and biryani next.
I had walked by this spot a couple of times and had a really good feeling about it. Finally gave it a chance today, and it was an overall lovely experience! It feels like you’ve been welcomed into the owners home. After their kind smiles and welcome, you are immediately met by the delicious aromas of their Burmese cuisine to reconfirm that you made a great decision. In SF it is more rare than you’d think for you to get authentic food, served by the owners. On top of that, it is at a very fair price. Also similar type of restaurants of neighboring cuisines really up charge you for their curries (ie if you add meat it’s extra, If you get rice it’s an unreasonable price, etc). Not here, I got the beef lunch special, it comes with a huge serving of beef with no fillers, refreshing salad, perfectly cooked egg, and a delicious spring roll. $17. Everything was warm and well seasoned. What more can you ask for? You can watch them prepare your food in an open kitchen, made with care, and everything is extremely clean. I can promise you that you legit can’t get a better deal than this. This is one of those businesses you will feel happy supporting. I can’t wait come back and try more of their fairly priced food, I’m sure it’s all super flavorful. Come show them your support and enjoy the delicious flavors of Burma.
We had a delicious Burmese lunch of spicy beef curry over the most delicious coconut rice. Three flavors were amazing and we cleaned every inch of our plates. The proprietors were very welcoming and friendly and happy to tell us about the food and more. Please give this gem some love.
Follow for more honest reviews around the world 5 coming from Burmese background I can confirm the food is authentic, homemade tasting and priced well! Cant wait to be back! Food: - Burmese curry beef: super tender and has a very deep curry and Smokey flavor (I got medium spicy). Drizzle that over coconut rice and you’ll be transported to Myanmar - Rainbow Salad: noodle salad dish that is slightly warm that has a slight tamarind sour flavor and spice. Note they give you food in takeaway containers because you may not finish the food and simply can take it home after. Service: lovely Burmese/myanmar family owned and my mom converse with them in Burmese so you know it’s authentic. They’ve been in business for over 20 years in different locations. Friendly lady! Atmosphere: has whatever you need for a primarily takeout spot. Tip: cold water in the corner! Overall open kitchen concept and clean.
Ar Har Ya Burmese Kitchen is a popular Burmese restaurant located in San Francisco’s Financial District at 357 Kearny Street. This casual spot, open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (closed on Sundays), is known for its authentic Burmese dishes and welcoming, no-frills atmosphere. The menu features traditional items such as tea leaf salad, chicken curry with coconut rice, and fish curry, along with lunch specials like the beef and chicken curry options. The restaurant is especially well-regarded for its generous portions and fresh ingredients, all offered at a fair price. Ar Har Ya offers both dine-in and take-out options, making it a convenient choice for lunch or early dinner. I like Their Fried noodle. Ar Har Ya noodle call ( Shwe Taung Kout Swal) is really good.
While on a road trip passing through San Francisco. We stopped at one of the most authentic Burmese food places!! As a Burmese American i approve this restaurant!! We got tea leaf salad, beef curry, and of the national dish of Burma mohinga
Great Burmese food in Fidi. Try the soups. This primarily takeout restaurant only has a couple tables and you'll be eating or sharing from takeout containers, but the food is what you're here for. The husband and wife are such kind people and they care about the food and customers. Note that the tea leaf salad is good, but some may think the tea leaf flavor may be a little on the light side. Watch out for the serrano peppers too.
