Their fried chicken is very good. Crust is crispy and very flavorful. Chicken is juicy. They have homemade chicken and noodles on Mondays. Delicious!
We have been going to this fabulous restaurant for decades. We drive from Blue Springs,MO for 9 years. Nest chicken ever! It will not be fast but great expect 25 minutes for them to cook it fresh. Tasty juicy and favorable. Best potatoes green beans and german slaw. This is the best in the area.
The chicken wars continue!! We tried Gebhardt's this week and we're really impressed! We went on Monday to try the chicken noodles and were amazed at the portions and how great the food and service were. So we decided to try the chicken. On Friday and again we were really impressed. The better for the chicken is more of a corn fried batter than a traditional, but it has way less grease than the other places. The German slaw was a really nice dressing of acidity and sweet, and the mash potatoes and gravy were better than the competition in the area. One important point, only cash or check! Don't show up without that!! Great job, we will be back!
Old fashioned, down home restaurant with delicious fried chicken. Large portions. Great service. Restaurant is way out in the country but worth the trip. Also, they take cash or check only.
Onion rings were the star, followed closely by the homemade noodles (Mondays only!) although they are not for the faint of salt. The fried chicken was ok-good, but took about 35 minutes.
Got there at opening time. There was a huge private party that was there, too. Only 2 servers but our server was impeccable! Thank you Miss Skylynn! Appetizer sampler was super! Chicken came out hot, tender and juicy. Green beans with bacon in them, YUM! Cold beer in a frosted mug. We loved it. Inside is a little dated but, WHO GIVES A RIP when they have food and service this good!
Nice family diner. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. I was disappointed with the way they cut the chicken, the thigh in my dinner was about half-size.
Wow! This place is incredible. We had the most amazing time eating in here. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked to order and phenomenal. However the chicken noodles with homemade noodles on Mondays were the star of the show! Prices were extremely reasonable and portions large. You will not be going hungry here. We got to meet the owner and she is the hardest working woman around and a delight to talk too. Stop by if you are in the area!
classic SEK chicken house vibe. chicken fried chicken was hot and fresh, went great with the German slaw. bangin onions rings. friendly service. way out in the sticks, but worth the drive.
A local restaurant with awesome staff and amazing food! The portions are huge and I always have leftovers. The kids menu has lots of options as well. The staff is very friendly and treats you like family. We'll worth the extra drive time for delicious homemade food.
