Golden City

We've been coming here since 2019 and love the food. We're always welcomed by friendly employees and never have to wait to have our orders taken. We always get the General Tso chicken, orange chicken and pork fried rice. Never disappointed.

This was my first time being here, and it was for takeout. That's NOT, a bad thing. Let me make that clear. They were BUSY as hell when I got there, and I think also understaffed, so it took a bit of time to get my order. I ordered two hours ahead, and did have to wait maybe ten minutes more than that (that is PERFECTLY acceptable to me, because of what I got). When I got home, unboxed everything, and ate, it was WONDERUL (that's why I said, I didn't mind waiting). I got the Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Buddhas Plate (not sure on that last one, but it is all veggies, and is AMAZING, especially if you are craving veggies). When it comes to the quality, it is spot on. I ALWAYS have a problem with the chicken being over cooked, and NOT flavorful. This was the COMPLETE opposite. Tasty, juicy and tastes, like guess what, CHICKEN, and, not overly sweet, so you can actually taste the protein. The Mongolian Beef, was EXCELLENT. Normally I get this, and it is just SLATHERED in some generic sweet sauce. This was NOT! It was amazing, and you can also get it different heat levels, which was REALLY nice. The beef was tender, NOT overcooked (which most places do), and there was a great beef to veggie ratio. Pretty much perfect. The third (and I just looked at their menu), was the Buddhist Vegetables. You some good veggies, with a perfect sauce, then this is what you want. It hits the spot for your veggie fix. If I am going to order from them again, the Buddhist Veggie, is going to be on my order, first thing. I HIGHLY recommend EVERYONE go here, if you want some GREAT food, at a reasonable price. Even though I had never eaten here (my Mom has multiple times, and recommended them), I accidentally gave them a $20 tip on a $45 bill. You know what..... Tip well spent, cause that meal was WELL WORTH IT. I have ZERO regrets on that. I will certainly order again. Great food and great price. Screw Doordash. Take the time to go here, and you will NOT regret it. I can't wait to order again.

Absolutely fantastic food. American Chinese style cuisine. Exactly what I was looking for. Portions are huge, I got the sesame chicken and crab puffs and it could pretty much feed 3 people, no joke. Highly recommend!

I ordered Pot Stickers (6) for $7.75, Crispy Spring Rolls (2) for $2.75, and the Golden City Combination Fried Rice, which includes shrimp, chicken, and pork, for $7.75. The pot stickers were huge, packed with flavorful meat, likely pork, and even better with the pot sticker sauce. The spring rolls were perfectly crispy, filled with veggies, and complemented by the sweet & sour dip. The Golden City Combination Fried Rice was tasty, with a surprising amount of shrimp for the price. My only minor complaint is that it could’ve used just a pinch more MSG (the "cocaine of cooking," as Uncle Roger says). Including a canned Coke, the total bill came to $21.97—a great deal in today’s tough economy. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars! I highly recommend Golden City!

TheBEST Chinese in Portland and Vancouver combined. Always fresh. Always pleasant and great prices. Family run. Plenty of parking. Simple dishes, no upselling, neighborhood joint kind of feel. Just the best experience for anyone I have taken there with me and i have taken over 10 different people at different times. Highly recommend!

If you love a good Ole fashion Chinese restaurant, this is your spot. We stopped in for dinner one night cause we wanted to try a new place. Everything we ordered was good and the lo mein is my favorite in town. We also enjoy their skillet dishes.

Golden City is a Hazel Dell neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The service was friendly and the food came out hot and fresh. The price is good especially since the portions are very generous! They were busy with lots of carry out orders and almost all seats filled on the evening we went.

Located in a mini-mall strip this cute restaurant definitely is a must visit. The interior definitely needs an update or deep clean. But the food is great! For the price you pay you get family size portions. A true Chinese restaurant where sharing dishes is the culture. The staff are very friendly and attentive. This is a place that I will be visiting again and has become one of my top Chinese restaurants in the Vancouver area. Highly recommend visiting or even takeout!
