My wife and I ordered from Hong Kong and we were both very happy with our food. My favorite dish is chicken with garlic sauce - I have finally found a place that prepares it to my liking. My wife enjoyed her kung pao beef. She forgot to tell them to not make it less spicy. It was fine, she loved it. The owner was a delight to talk with - a very upbeat person. This is a carryout only place which is why my atmosphere rating was only 4 stars.
Hong Kong Restaurant for a good Chinese dinner win! I've had such a craving for fried rice and my husband wanted General Tso's chicken. It's been a tough lately since our go to place changed ownership and the quality declined. Hong Kong Restaurant is a small, family owned restaurant in the same strip mall as the Ace Hardware. It's a take out only restaurant, no tables and no seating. The lady is so nice. I called ahead asking how her General Tso's was made with brown sauce or if it was an orange type of sauce. She gave me a good description and mentioning it had some spice to it, but not offensive. It was exactly what my husband wanted. It wasn't overly breaded and the sauce was sweeter, savory with a little heat. He was a happy man. The fried rice had plenty of chicken and cooked well. The portions were huge! I also ordered beef and broccoli Cantonese chow mein. This was delicious! There was so much beef and broccoli, the sauce wasn't salty and went perfect with the chow mein noodles. We ordered egg rolls and crab rangoons too. Both we were good. The wrapper was a little thicker than I prefer, but they were both good. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes on their menu like their egg foo yung. No pics ... hungry teenaged boys dove into the food right away.
I am a very picky eater and they are always great about my special requests. The food is great and they are very quick to get your order out. Everything always comes out so hot too. Love them! Update from 12-8-20 These guys are still delivering such a great product. Hadn't been there for a while since our office moved and they are so good. So much food with their lunch special too! Update from 9-24-25 Still rocking it with amazing sauces and the BEST eggrolls in the Northwest suburbs. Loaded with pork and shrimp in a tasty wrap (not rice paper). You have to get them. Love their Kung Pow!
I went here recently for the first time. We got two lunch specials and soup. My husband got the lo mein, which was great. They use the thin lo mein noodles, which I think are better. The lunch also came with a tasty egg roll. I got the Kung pao chicken. Plenty of chicken, veggies and peanuts. He got egg drop soup. They make their egg drop soup with chicken in it. I would like that if I liked egg drop soup, but my husband said he could have done without it. I thought it was a nice option to have included. I had the wonton soup. It took extra time because I was told they make it fresh, which got my attention. Along with the meat filled wontons, the soup also had slices of pork, I think there may have been chicken in there too. There was also cabbage and carrots. I liked it a lot. All of the food was good. The lady who helped me was very polite and thanked me more than once for coming in. The inside is small but it's done cute and it all looked very clean and orderly, which I appreciated. We'll be back.
Our favorite take out place. Everything is delicious. The egg rolls are the best!
Amazing food! Definitely a golden gem tucked away in Arlington Heights. You can’t beat the prices anywhere else in the area and the people are always kind. I’ve only found this place about 7 months ago but I stay going back to be amazed by every new dish I try. 10 out of 10 recommend if looking for delicious authentic take out whether in the area or not. If you’re a fan of chop suey, their savory sauce is tasty and mouth watering. The egg foo young will leave you wanting more even after being full… and the egg rolls… All good!
Family run, from scratch food, made fresh! Portions are generous, food is delicious, staff is friendly. I’m a Cashew Chicken guy. It is absolutely delicious, and they will tailor the “heat” for you, if you ask. Wife loves their spring rolls and egg foo yung. Also, have great lunch specials, which come with fried rice and a spring roll! We are a local family living in the area for almost 55 years and this is BY FAR the best Chinese food around. Quality & value have never been more important to people and they serve it in abundance.
