The food and atmosphere was very nice. We ordered appetizers and a meal. The appetizers came out within minutes, but then we proceeded to wait an entire hour for our main course to be served. Our server was very apologetic and explained that their takeout orders were overwhelming them on a Friday night especially as the crowd grew. We will give them a try on another night for sure but it was frustrating sit down meal.
Locally owned and friendly staff. Take out is fast and easy. Food is great and lots of options. They do close early most days at 9 and closed on Mondays. I like to eat a little later but no big deal.
This has always been one of my favorite spots for Chinese food! The food is great and the service is friendly! I never leave disappointed!
There's no place better for great-tasting food at a reasonable price than Lotus. The food is always good, always hot, and always right. If you leave hungry, it's your fault cuz they serve very generous portions. The Shrimp Fried Rice is the best anywhere! We drive from Cedar Falls nearly every week cuz the Chinese food in Waterloo/Cedar Falls sucks! We come here so much, they know our orders by heart. The staff is great too! Best people anywhere!
Highly recommend! This is my favorite restaurant in Vinton and the greater Vinton area. Not only is it delicious, the prices are also low!
I tell people that we moved back to Iowa because of Lotus restaurant . I have never been disappointed with the food, ever. Vinton is a small town, with tons of options! So happy to be back and....great Chinese food. The take out wait time can be long, on Friday & Saturday night, plan ahead....it's worth the wait!

My family and I eat here often, for their food is amazing and their service is even better. We always get a very energetic and friendly greeting and never have anything wrong with our orders. You can always tell that their food is cooked well and is always fantastic. Over all, I don't see anything wrong with Lotus, and think it provides a plausible dining experience.
