The food was really good! You won't beat it for the price, and I will definitely be going again! We got the Veggie Lo Mein, Kung Pow chicken, and the wonton soup with a side of fried rice. The order only took 10 minutes and everything was fresh!
We were just passing through on a road trip and were really craving decent Chinese food. Where we were visiting we ordered from a Chinese food place and it was so terrible we took one bite each and threw it away. On the other hand this little hole in the wall held up to the good reviews. My husband got general tsos and I got sesame chicken. My husband got pork fried rice with his combo and (through some miscommunication) I got plain fried rice. Both of our meals were excellent though I do wish I had gotten the pork fried rice. Our chicken was flavorful and crisp (not soggy which we hate) and I had even forgotten to say EXTRA spicy when ordering but it was still really good and packed with flavor. We also got crab rangoons which were the best I’ve had in years, they were actually so full with crab, I was going to take a picture to show it off but I didn’t have my phone handy. And lastly the egg rolls that came with our meals were delicious. We got way more than we bargained for at a crazy low price. I could only eat half a portion of my meal with the edition of the crab Rangoon I had and the egg roll I had, but we still have two egg rolls left. Half an order of rangoons and each of us half a meal left. We were shocked at the portions for the price. Where we’re from we typically spend $50 or more for our usual Chinese order and they don’t come with egg rolls. This place I think we spent about $35. All around a solid place we will return to when passing through again.
Felt like a south side walk up type place, you can tell the dad handed me the food while the kid was playing Roblox behind the counter. Portions are solid.
My first time here and they did a good job on my vegetable lo mein. I had to use Google Translate to get my order done but .
They serve up a very generous amount of food for a single order. I’m a vegetarian and they have a very nice selection of fresh veggies in teriyaki sauce that is enough for two meals. Service is prompt and efficient. Don’t be discouraged by the dingy foyer etc…the food is good and plentiful. Friendly service.
They know how to fry their chicken pieces well so any of those dishes are great. The classic beef and broccoli is decent. A nice above average Chinese spot. One of the better spots in town for that classic American Chinese menu takeout. Takeout only so there is no dining in.
I am new to the area and have been hoping to find a Chinese take-out restaurant that I can rely on for delicious meals and I think I've found it! Last night I ordered crab rangoon, veggie lo mein, and sesame shrimp. As other reviews have stated the crab rangoon is one of the best items here. Delicious and crunchy wontons wrapped around cream cheese with actual crab stick pieces in there! The veggie lo mein is a staple for me and it did not disappoint. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was mild. Sesame shrimp was a dish I hadn't had before but I very much enjoyed it--think of sweet and sour shrimp but covered in a delicious sesame sauce. I wasn't expecting the shrimp to be breaded but it was a pleasant surprise. Overall the meal was great and I will absolutely keep coming back to Ming Garden.
We really love the house specialties (general tsos, orange chicken etc). Tried the Singapore noodles last time and really enjoyed those. Good apps, you get a lot for the price, friendly staff always have our order hot and ready. Definitely our go to takeout place in Champaign
