A long time ago, in a small Michigan town not so far away, there stood a humble outpost of flavor and comfort—Panda Chinese Restaurant, the Cedar Springs stronghold where weary travelers and hungry locals alike could find balance, warmth, and a plate of sweet‑and‑sour destiny. ⭐ Panda Chinese Restaurant – A Cedar Springs Tale of Flavor and the Force In the quiet reaches of White Creek Avenue, beyond the bustle of the larger chains and the noise of passing speeders, Panda has remained a constant beacon for those seeking honest, dependable American‑Chinese cooking. For many seasons—decades, even—this little family‑run kitchen has served as a gathering point for locals who know that true mastery doesn’t require flash, only consistency, heart, and a well‑seasoned wok. Tonight’s journey brought me back to my trusted trilogy: sweet‑and‑sour chicken, fried rice, and an egg roll. The chicken arrived like a squadron of golden starfighters—crisp armor on the outside, tender within, all carried by a bright, tangy‑sweet sauce that struck perfect balance between light and bold. No heaviness. No cloying syrup. Just harmony. The fried rice carried the unmistakable signature of a seasoned wok—onions, green onions, egg, vegetables, and a whisper of black pepper that lingered like the hum of a lightsaber after a duel. The egg roll? Hot, crunchy, and filled with purpose. A loyal companion. And the portions—generous enough to satisfy a Jedi after a long campaign, with leftovers fit for a second adventure. --- The Keepers of the Kitchen Behind the counter stands a family whose dedication is as steady as the twin suns of Tatooine. Their manner is focused, efficient, and precise—traits of those who take their craft seriously. What some might mistake for curt is simply the rhythm of a family working hard to keep their outpost thriving. With time, their warmth reveals itself like a familiar theme returning in a new chapter. It’s bittersweet to see their young Padawan—once doing homework or gaming in the back—now grown. Time moves swiftly, even in Cedar Springs. --- Value Worthy of the Rebellion In an age when many establishments shrink portions and raise prices like Imperial tariffs, Panda remains a bastion of fair value, hearty servings, and fresh, reliable food. Supporting them isn’t just a meal choice—it’s an act of community, a way to keep a beloved local spot strong in the face of larger forces. --- A Call to the Cedar Springs System Skip the chains for a night. Support the family‑run outpost that has served this town faithfully for years. Whether you’re a longtime regular or a newcomer seeking a dependable meal, Panda delivers with speed, heart, and flavor that never strays from the path. Pro tip from an old traveler: request a little extra sweet‑and‑sour sauce for dipping. Trust the Force on this one.
I’m not sure what to think. The food was okay. The fried rice had a weird texture at times. The orange chicken was okay. I’ll probably come back to try another thing on the menu.
Best Chinese in town. General tso chicken combo up there with the best. Im a truck driver. They don't deliver but the lady was so kind as to bring my order to me as its hard to access most places with big rigs. I will be back!
Very friendly staff and owners. Super fresh in delicious food some of the best fried rice I have seen and the freshness is next to none. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for good Chinese takeout.
We ordered this for dinner and couldn't be happier! The two hard working people that served us were very kind and polite, as well as timely with food we ordered. The portions were very fair to the price charged and most of all the food tasted great! Very clean and fresh flavors and well worth it!
Always fast and friendly! It is cash only, but their portions are very generous and great food.
Food is delicious and portions are great, i always have leftovers. Always very nice too. Dont know why there's so many bad reviews, they definitely don't deserve it.
Solid, historical Chinese take out in Cedar Springs. Cash only. Don't dine in. Fast service. I'm usually getting crab rangoon, egg roll, orange chicken, and shrimp lo mein. Large portion sizes. They know what they're doing. Classic Chinese take out. Nothing more to it.
