If your looking for a unique place to meet and catch up with friends, this is the place to experience. The atmosphere is fun and creates a unique vibe of being swept away to a tropical lounge. The food was good but lets face it, you come here for the drinks. Reasonably priced, great service, amazing ambiance creates a great night out with friends. Would totally recommend for a fun night out.
Really friendly and personable bartenders! Designated Driver was one of the best and cheapest mocktails I’ve ever had. It’s not an especially unique tiki bar (I’ve been to many), but it’s still very immersive and fun. Nice and dark inside. If I ever come back to Vancouver, I’ll try the food here next time because it looked really good!
We didn't get any food, but kept eyeing the crab dip. Our bartender Dustin was spectacular and we really enjoyed all of the drinks that he suggested for us. I would recommend sitting at the bar if you're feeling a little social. We had a WONDERFUL time!! We will be raving about our experience for a long time
First, while I'll say I'm sure this place isn't for everyone, I have to add I didn't think it would be much for me, either, and I went here to entertain my wife (who loves both everything Hawaiian, and kitsch). But there is something to be said about a 'bad joke' that is just committed to so hard and with such love, that it becomes a good joke after all. I've been to Trader Vic's and many other such places in the past and had a so-so time, but when the entire bar begins to flash while a chant of 'Volcano Bowl!' starts up, and the large tiki at the entrance unleashes smoke at the delivery of the aforementioned bowl drink (and there's a different one for the Mystery Bowl, and I would guess a third for the other bowl, which didn't get delivered while were were there), that even a stoic non-drinker found it charmingly hilarious. But the most surprising thing was the Polynesian dancers--that come out on Wednesday nights and we arranged to be there for--were actually so affecting. I didn't expect an impassioned dance to a version of Stand By Me, partially sung in Hawaiian, which hit hard after losing one of my closest friends earlier in the month who would have loved the place. That alone would have made it worth the effort to find the place. So I would definitely say this was one of the highlights of our trip to Vancouver. And even if you're a local who's somehow never been, I'd highly recommend it. They are lovely people in every way.
Started with the Punch bowl , then Zombie and Pain Killer . The drinks are very good and pretty quick . I had the Edamame , Avacado and Crab and Red Curry for dinner with a Salad . My Salad was super clean and fresh and my dressing tasted healthy . I have food allergies and our Server was very helpful . I had zero allergic reactions and furthermore no bloating or any stomachs issues. I didn’t wake up with a hangover in the morning despite the buzz that I had the night before. The lighting is darker than most Tiki places but I don’t mind as they serve interesting drinks throughout the night with special effects . Next time I go I am taking a small flashlight and magnifying glass to see the menu . The service is good . Quick for how busy it is . Our server reminded us of the two hour turn around and she spoke so fast but I just think it was busy so nothing personal . When we asked if we can sit at the bar after there were mixed answers like they maybe wanted us to leave so there is room for those who made reservations to sit at the bar ? Not really sure , my husband asked the Bartender and he said we could stay but then someone told my husband we couldn’t so we left even though we were going to have more drinks . Again I don’t take it personally, I just think there was something going on that Staff was just trying to manage . Everyone was friendly , just very busy. I’m a Tiki enthusiast so I’m just grateful that the Shameful Room is in Vancouver. I definitely plan to go back . We had a great time .
Came here early for a couple drinks. Chill vibe , smoke machines + sound effects later on. Very dark inside. Still easy to talk not super loud. Tried a few different drinks and all were tasty , I like the menu is is very descriptive and images of each of the drinks. My favourite was blue Hawaii , not blended but small chunks of ice. We didn’t try food other than chips + salsa , decent portion $9. Our server was efficient and made sure we always had a drink or asked if we want more. 2 hour time limit on tables.
What a place to be! It's one of the best cocktail bars out there. The vibes are impeccable, the cocktails are to die for! Service is great. Amazing place to have drinks with your friends, hands down! I love the tribal look they have for the place, such a vibe. Do yourself a favor and take a cab to this place because you'll leave turnt
