This little store holds a lot of nostalgia for me. Going up to our camp as a kid, U-B's was always the last stop to grab supplies on the way in. I'd go admire the jackalope head mount in the back room while the adults loaded up on beer and snacks. Since then they've added a food counter and some seating. (I think) The jackalope is gone, but they've more than made up for the loss of one cryptid with an abundance of Bigfoot decor. A lot has changed, but it still kind of feels the same. The food is great, the people are friendly, and they've got everything you need for a good weekend in the woods and more.

I've driven by the building that is UB's for years and never stopped in. While looking for diners on the way home one day it came up. I had no idea it served food! I highly recommend it. Prices are reasonable and Really Good. Excellent fries! And the Mercantile has pretty much anything you could need! Definitely going back!!

Came here for breakfast, it was delicious. It was crowded at the time (everyone leaving the Ranger school) but the wait wasn’t bad and was worth it. Went there again recently to get some miscellaneous camping supplies, they had what we were looking for. Would recommend.

This is a simple and great country diner. The interior and exterior walls are beautifully painted - even the napkin holders on the tables are painted! We went for breakfast, food was great and the coffee was delicious. The reviews for UBs were mixed and I’m glad we ignored them! The service was great, food was reasonably priced, and we loved the quirky decor. We love a place with a unique spin and thoughtful touches. A must stop spot when you’re passing through!

Big Foot Restaurant is a wonderful mom-and-pop spot with genuinely kind people and really authentic food. The atmosphere feels personal and homey, with small details everywhere that make it clear this place is part of their life, not just a business. There’s also a grocery store connected to the restaurant, which is a nice bonus if you want to bring something home. Overall, it’s a comfortable, welcoming place with great food. I definitely recommend stopping by.

This is a weird 5-star rating. This place is in the middle of nowhere and painted up to a Bigfoot theme. The food is decent, but the owner and staff are wonderful sweethearts and the owner is having an incredible amount of fun. The Bigfoot theme is inexplicable, and really pushes this to a must see place. The owner did all the painting herself. The menu is extensive, and it's very much a diner. There are a lot of baked goods, but I'm gluten free, so I have no idea. She's just having more fun baking like the wild woman that she is. She's just adorable and this is kind of like something out of a David Lynch movie, only happy sane people and with no deaths.

I've spent a lot of time over the years traveling throughout the Adirondacks, but this is the first time I really noticed U-B's, so I stopped in for breakfast since the nearby Hillside Diner recently closed. The service was friendly, and breakfast was very tasty and well-prepared. The whole place is adorned with bigfoot-themes paintings by a local artist, who I'm told is a retired school teacher. A sign indicates "one stop shopping", which it indeed it is. It has a little of everything, which is important in such a far flung, sparsely populated area. Driving along state route 3, you'll notice along the side of the road a parade of American flags planted in the ground that stretches for several miles. Every few feet among the flags, sits a boot, in honor of our fallen war heroes. This is the handiwork of U-B's owner, Kim, a proud veteran herself, she tells me, and the plan is to stretch the flag memorial parade for 30 miles. Quite an impressive memorial. Anyone travelling through the area needing to stock up on supplies, or grab a bite to eat, would be well served to stop in to this quirky, but utilitarian outpost, because there's nothing else around to satisfy one's needs for miles and miles. Five stars.
