Such nice people and the food is amazing. My husband and I got the country fried steak (and mine were fingers). Huge portion and oh so delicious. Creamy macaroni and peppery mashed potatoes. The Texas toast was buttered and everything was just great. Will definitely be back.

Y'all come check on me later. I may have died and gone to heaven. If you're ever in the New Braunfels area you definitely need to come check out Freiheit Country Store. Possibly the best chicken fried steak with mac n cheese I've ever had in my life. Everything had a taste like it was homemade. And that you can't get out of a can. Only thing better than the food is the service. Thank you Makana you're the best. No question in my mind I will be back.

Me and my mom always wanted to eat at this place but we always had other options already picked out but today we decided to hit the bucket and dine here! I got the queso burger with tater tots while my mom got the BLT with fries. We shared the egg rolls. We both liked it here and would come again. The customer service was amazing and quite fast. There is a big play area for kids and adults.

It is tempting to call this place a hidden gem but when you arrive to an impossible hunt for parking and hear a concert in the distance you think that the gem must not be all that hidden. Perhaps I was just the last to know. If they offered an orientation session before your visit, that would be helpful for navigation. I followed a sign to the restaurant side but if it weren’t for a sign on the door that said “Yes, in here” I never would’ve thought that this plain steel door was an entry. Once you’re inside, don’t worry, it’s just as confusing. There’s a series of pieced-together additions - all of which are as old as sin - that can take you to some sketchy bathrooms, a quaint ice cream parlor, various dining spaces, or if you’re watching really closely, the hostess stand. But once I found that hostess stand, I was welcomed like they knew I was coming and the service held strong to the end. I ordered Vic’s Famous Freiheit Extreme named after their longtime security guard and “pappy.” I got to meet Vic and he’s like a well-loved celebrity walking around this place. If George Strait would’ve walked in I don’t know that he would’ve gotten as much attention as Vic. And his namesake burger is the favorite for a reason. All of the Freiheit burgers come on a delicious Hawaiian bun with a seasoned-to-perfection half-pound patty. Vic’s burger comes with bacon, cheese, grilled onion, grilled mushrooms, jalapeños (86 for me because #spicywimp), and dressed all the way. The first bite into this burger was delightful. It comes together very well. It looks large but as long as you’ve got a big mouth you’re good. My only critique would be that the patty is cooked (per the menu) to medium well. Cooking that patty to medium would take this burger to new levels of seduction. It still gets an A for flavor. I’ll have to go again to figure out the concert side. I've never had a bad experience at Freiheit and I've coming here since 1989. The burgers are really good but I love the chili even more! I don't give many 5 star ratings out, but I truly believe they deserve it!

LOVE THIS PLACE! the food was amazing and service was good i love the atmosphere in the back also and the whole vibe is fun! Live music is a plus!

Best dining experience I've had in YEARS!! This place is quite literally one of the gems of New Braunfels!! The food, atmosphere and service were all 10 out of 10!! Our server Kate today was so sweet & definitely made us feel right at home! Can't wait to come back!

This was my first visit to Freiheit and it definitely won't be my last! I met friends at the bar on a late Sunday afternoon and the atmosphere was fun and engaging. The burgers were suggested by a friend and were first-rate, dripping with flavor! The service was friendly and fast! Wendy is the best!
