My wife being phillipino and I stopped in here for lunch to try this place. Service and food is excellent. The chicken lo mi is perfectly prepared. The fried rice is perfect not greasy. The Pork bbq screwers were perfect. The lumpia was perfect also. The pig ear and snout with egg si sig was seasoned well and perfect. The halo halo was also perfect. This place is a great taste of the philippines. AAA+
This was our first time to Ati-Atihan I drove past it almost daily and took in the great smelling BBQ aroma across Milwaukee Ave., we finally decided to stop by and have a meal there. It was one of the greatest meals we've ever had. This was also the first time eating Filipino food. The flavors were unbelievable, I had the bbq skewered chicken and pork meal and my wife had the Pocherong Bisaya soup. The atmosphere was great and cozy, the wait staff was friendly and attentive. I just can't say enough good things about this place. I already picked out my next menu item for my next visit. If your curious about this place, just go and enjoy it. You won't be disappointed.
Chicago guy here who lived in the Philippines for 3 years everything is on point here! Huge portions of pork in my vinegar soup that I used to call it when I lived there and didn't know how to pronounce sinigang. Their special combo is great too great marinade and tender juicy meat. Will come back again and again. Kilawin is awesome. It's a raw fish and vinaigrette for those of you who are not filipinos. It usually needs at least 40 minutes to marinade before serving. Improvement tips. Keep the place toasty warm it should always feel warm when you walk into a restaurant. You should pack it for them. Especially, if you're taking tips.
We had a wonderful experience! Felt like we were visiting family and having a great dinner. The wait staff appeared to work well as a team and were all very friendly. We noticed people coming in 15 minutes before closing, but they handled that very well. Highly recommend.
Ordered carry-out. Service could be a bit more attentive at the front/ entrance. I ordered my food and then waited for about 20 minutes for my food. Plenty of seating for all sorts of groups. There was a band practicing on the stage near the front. Pretty good pancit bihon and the lumpia were perfectly crispy.
Per 2024 Golf Rd, and 2025 Milwaukee Ave, visits...: Food: very good. Of the Filipino restaurants eaten in the past year(!), this had the best garlic fried rice. It’s not the best _ever,_ but certainly better than that offered by other, larger, un-named competitors. Fish was good, beef as well; the egg rolls at our 2024 visit were too salty but not those ordered in 2025, and at all visits they always presented a decent mix of crispy and soft textures. The chicken breast in our Ati-Atihan Combo was excellent. Its sauce was not overpowering so its grilled prep could be tasted alongside the marinade. That's art in motion...or perfected barbecue? The thigh-lover in our group devoured his barbecued thigh Ati as well, so it was presumably just as perfect. Topping everything off, prices were thankfully decent. Service: our server was open and honest about the possible wait for our order. Up to 45 minutes but ours was luckily ready in about 20 due to our very arrival (the restaurant had just opened for the day and diners started piling in later). At our 2024 visit our server remembered our discussion at seating about the leche flan, and asked if we were interested in it after the main course. But of course! Alas, that dessert was not available at our Milwaukee Ave visits. Maybe another day? Atmosphere: this has always been a very family oriented Filipino restaurant which has moved to various locations in Niles, Illinois. So far, this newest one has been the best. There's a great decor and enjoyable background radio. My co-diner laughed at the Christmas music that played throughout our late September 2024 visit; it was present again in (just? it was so cheerful!) one April 2025 visit, along with a fine music mix for families. This newest Milwaukee Ave location also had a stage for a band. When does it play? Saturday nights? Quick, move the tables out of the way for dancing.
I'm usually critical but i love this place! The interior is very modern but still distinctly Filipino. Very clean including serving areas. The sections of the layout are well thought of. The servers are efficient and well trained. Good job to the management!
Everything tastes good. Filipino food hardcore. Service is fast. They even have live band only on Saturday nights.
