I celebrated my 30th birthday at Ilios in Cancun and it was truly unforgettable. I absolutely love the aesthetic of the place. Every corner is stunning and thoughtfully designed, and the ambience feels vibrant yet intimate at the same time. The food was great, beautifully presented and full of flavor, but what stood out above everything was the service. The servers were 10/10 — spectacular hospitality from start to finish and you can genuinely see how well they work together as a team to create such a seamless, elevated experience. I’m beyond grateful to have spent such a special milestone here.
The atmosphere was absolutely unforgettable! The staff was friendly, and the sunset view was stunning. Overall, I was truly impressed after my visit and can’t wait to return. Definitely a five-star experience. My main dish (fish with vegetables) didn’t quite wow me. i received a lovely compliment from the chef — bread with what seemed like butter — which was a very thoughtful touch. My cocktail was served in a glass shaped like a Greek leg statue, a beautiful reference to Greek mythology. It was unforgettable and such a creative detail. The restrooms and the dining area were incredible — everything felt immersive, with a strong Greek spirit that makes you feel completely transported into the atmosphere. thank you guys so much !!!
Ilios was an amazing immersive dining experience in Cancún! I've never experienced such personalized service, our waiter was more than attentive, frequently rounding and providing the best dining experience possible. While we don't usually go out for a pricey dinner, I can say that the money was 100% worth it!! They have amazing live entertainment and the atmosphere is 1000/10!!! I couldn't have asked for a better server and staff to help us have an amazing night out!!
This is an excellent place to go to have great ambiance, service, and delicious food. The restaurant is right on the water with a beautiful view of the lagoon. We went earlier in the evening hoping to catch the sunset but a thunderstorm rolled in. We recommend getting to the restaurant around 7/7:30 since the night time shows do not start until 8:30. We ordered the tuna sashimi and giant grilled prawns as starters. If you love raw tuna and olive tapenade the sashimi is the perfect starter for you. The grilled prawns come with a nice sauce and cucumber salad. For our mains we ordered the rack of lamb, the whole salt baked Branzino with sides of shisito peppers and arugula salad. The fish was perfectly baked and super tender, with such great flavor from the dressing they add table side. The lamb was also very tender with the right amount of seasoning. Make sure to save room for dessert because we recommend the flourless chocolate cake and the cheesecake! Overall such a great meal and such a beautiful atmosphere. You are expected to pay a lot more for the meals and services.
Visited Ilios for our anniversary dinner! It was our second time dining at the Cancun location and it did not disappoint. The service truly stands out as exceptional - thank you Edu & Hiram! Everything we ordered was outstanding, the service was friendly, and the attention to detail was incredible. Absolutely will return to Ilios next time we are in Cancun!
Our evening at Ilios Greek Restaurant in Playa del Carmen was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we made our reservation, everything was smooth and professional. The restaurant’s beautiful décor and lively Mediterranean vibe made us feel like we were dining in Greece itself. The live music was excellent — full of energy and authenticity — setting the perfect mood for the evening. The entertainment was incredible, from the talented belly dancer to the joyful “Opa!” dance, where even our amazing waitress Axel joined in with so much enthusiasm! She got the whole crowd involved — dancing, clapping, and celebrating together. The energy was contagious, and the plate-breaking tradition made the night even more fun and unforgettable. Axel truly deserves special recognition — she was so active, friendly, and full of life, making sure every moment felt special. The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — and the dessert was absolutely delicious. The best part was when my daughter got to help make the ice cream — it was such a fun and interactive experience that made the evening even more memorable for our family. If you’re in Playa del Carmen, Ilios is a must-visit — an unforgettable mix of incredible food, warm hospitality, live music, and joyful entertainment. Opa!
No regret spending our Christmas Eve dinner here. The atmosphere, service, shows, and food were excellent. However, it did take quite a long time to get hot water-I still didn't receive it after asking for a refill at the 3rd time. The restaurant is right on the water, and we were arranged at a table near the stairs for our babymoon after requesting a nice table. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the only disappointing part of the experience. People were constantly walking up and down the stairs with heavy steps, causing the floor to vibrate throughout our meal. As this is a busy restaurant, both staff and customers used the stairs frequently. (I’ve posted a video showing the glass of water visibly vibrating to better illustrate the issue.) I highly recommend removing the table from this spot. Overall, it's a wondertul restaurant, and we would still recommend it despite this issue.
The ambiance, energy, and overall vibe at Ilios are absolutely incredible. The party atmosphere was amazing, the music and entertainment were on point, and the energy in the restaurant was just so much fun. On top of that, the service was excellent, attentive, engaging, and really added to the experience. That said, the food was disappointing. The menu includes a mix of Greek and some Arab-inspired dishes, and as someone who eats both cuisines regularly, the flavours just didn’t taste right. It felt like ingredients were added to make the dishes feel different or elevated, but it actually took away from the authenticity. I genuinely believe that if they stuck closer to original, traditional recipes, the food could easily be five-star. Overall, I would go back, but strictly for the party and the atmosphere, not for the food. If you’re looking for a fun, high-energy night out, it delivers. Just don’t go in expecting an unforgettable meal.
