Chiba Japanese Restaurant

Food was great for the price. Chicken was a bit tough, though. Ordered the hibachi chicken with fried rice and substituted with extra fee for onions and zucchini. Flavor was great. Not too salty, as most hibachi meals are. I ordered take-out. $6 and change for chicken, mushrooms and fried rice. The meal usually comes with sweet carrots, which I omitted and ordered a $2 side of zucchini and onions. $9.06 total for a meal. They don't skimp on portions, at all, and it's well worth the price. My only complaint, which is not a big deal, is the customer service. They're not friendly AT ALL, so order and don't try to make conversation. They don't know what being cordial is (unfortunately, that's a Rockingham thing I guess.) Still, a great place to eat!

This is the best Japanese food around! For years we were too scared to try this place because it doesn't look like the nicest restaurant eventhough it always seemed to be extremely busy. I'm so glad we finally decided to try this place since it has amazing food. Personally, I recommend the "Chiba Special" as it comes with chicken, steak, shrimp, and scallops served over rice or noodles. Definitely try the noodles! The price is a little steep but you get enough food to eat atleast 2 to 3 times. I like to visit this place on a weekday though since the food is more tender when they're not as busy. Definitely recommend this place if you like traditional Japanese such as hibachi chicken!

We ate at Chiba Japanese Restaurant in Rockingham for the first time and it was absolutely amazing. The prices are very reasonable, and the food was excellent. I ordered the teriyaki chicken plate, and it’s honestly the best teriyaki chicken I can remember eating. My husband agreed and said it’s one of the best he’s ever had. The portion sizes are just right too, not overly large like some places, but still a good, satisfying plate. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Chiba has been my favorite Rockingham take-out for a long time - healthyish, reasonably priced, and friendly service. Unfortunately, I just got back to town to find they no longer allows credit/debit card orders under $10, so I won't be eating there unless I have visitors because I can't justify spending 40% more just for one take-out meal. It's odd to see a restaurant eliminating payment options during a time when others are expanding options since nobody wants to handle cash during a pandemic, but I'm sure the owners have good reasons. Clearly, I'm just disappointed because I love their food. I'll check back occasionally in hopes that they drop the limitation when times are better.

The drive thru line was really long, but it was worth the wait. The steak in our steak and shrimp combos was nice and tender and the sauce they give you is really good. Next time we're going to try eating inside.

The food is good. The place looks moderately clean.. I went through the drive thru and ordered but pulled around and stepped inside to take photos and the old man at the front looked like he was ready to fight me or holler at me. He came off extremely aggressive when asking what did I want..

This place offers fast food and inside dining. They offer a healthier selection of food options, like you would create at home, and the staff are very friendly and extremely fast. The food is wonderful and has an amazingly delicious flavor. My food has never been cold and is freshly made as soon as the order is placed.

My first experience here was wonderful the lady that took my order was willing to explain the difference in what I thought they had versus what they had. I wanted noodles which they call soma probably misspelled w teriyaki chicken no veggies as my son is very picky but he really liked their food, the portion & price was very good. You can't go to a fast food place & get much for like $9 or $10. My son made 2 meals out of it but most would make one meal out of it. Also my son usually doesn't like the way take out food takes heated up but he was satisfied & asked if we could get some again. The place was clean. The older gentleman well he seemed focused & determined to keep business moving, but my understanding is the Japanese are very focused not very social able but he was working so you can understand he is running a business not a social event. I believe if I wanted rice also that may have been a side thing to order for an extra charge. I was happy . Thank you
