Matsuyama Sushi

This is a truly authentic Japanese experience. It instantly brought me back to the ramen I had in Japan—comforting, rich, and perfectly balanced. Honestly, this is the best ramen I’ve had anywhere in the U.S., even compared to the fancy spots in NYC. It’s amazing to have something this special right here in New Jersey. With humility and simplicity, they’ve created something truly unforgettable. Thank you.

I stopped by for a late lunch take out and I was pleasantly surprised. First, the interior while not large is cozy and very inviting, complete with nice Japanese wall art, and even a stove heater in one section with many Japanese ceramics like tea pots on display. I ordered a Chicken teriyaki lunch box (bento) - (Entree, $14.50, 4/5) - I was happy with the heft of the bag and upon opening it, food was hot and fresh. California rolls were good and 2 pieces of shumai were crispy and nicely seasoned. Rice was the right portion and chicken was fresh-tasting with good quantity of teriyaki veggies. Some pieces were a bit tough and the seasoning overall did not really permeate, but I didn't mind. I mean, it's lunch special so you can't really expect too much. I was nicely satisfied with this bento - not too much, not too little, and at a great price. I used to do yoga right next door for years and had never gone in, but now I would like to dine in because they had that nice, cozy and authentic Japanese sushi house vibe that was so inviting + of course, good tasting food at reasonable price. I'll be back!

My authentic go to Japanese spot! Very cozy. You'll feel like you're in Japan. The food is amazing. I personally only eat raw fish here and it's always fresh. The staff are very friendly and courteous. All in all it's AMAZING! A MUST TRY.

Attention was amazing!! It was my friend’s bday and they were so accommodating… they even gave us some mochis on the house. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area cause their sushi is delicious.

This restaurant is a hidden little gem in Englewood. The service is amazing from the moment you walk in and the atmosphere is relaxing and calming. They offer complementary tea, radish, and peanuts upon sitting. We ordered the bento box which was 10/10. Orange ginger sauce that comes with the salad is finger licking. All sizes are perfect portions and all very tasty. The teriyaki chicken was crunchy and the sauce was perfect. The gyozas are perfectly fried. The miso soup was very traditional. We also ordered the poke bowl and it was the best I’ve ever had. It tasted fresh and clean unlike others I’ve tried in the past. The attention to detail on the preparation of the food shows with the presentation and taste. I highly recommend coming in/or ordering take out. Best sushi in this part of New Jersey. Some of the best and kindest staff you will ever meet, prioritize their customers and ensure that everyone’s experience is amazing. Quality of the fish is great every time, and I have never had an unpleasant experience in my many times coming here. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for great sushi and great experience with friendly staff. Can’t wait to come back again

Absolutely 5 stars! I was working in the area so I placed an order online, (it says approximately 20 minute wait) then I went in a few minutes after I placed the order as I had some paperwork to fill out while I was going to wait. It must've been only about 5 minutes that I sat there when my order came out, the hostess apologized for making me wait, (but I wasn't expecting the order for another 15 minutes) and gave me a free drink. The food itself was incredible too, some of the best sushi I've had, everything was so fresh and the Wasabi was amazing. If I ever find myself in the area again, I will absolutely go back, as the food, service, and experience was phenomenal.

Amazing outstanding bento boxes! I couldn’t believe their portion sizes and item generosity! I was very happy with my tempura and salmon teriyaki boxes. :) The staff and service and waiters here were extremely nice and very kind-hearted! I had a pleasure interacting with them! I felt so welcomed and at ease by them and I felt like they cared that everything was taken care of and okay. Definitely would recommend!
