If we're going to talk about good gorditas Durango style, here is the place. For my family and I, It was worth the 35-minute trip. Good and immediate service.
Yum, yum, yum! Authentic (like eating in my in-laws kitchen) and dirt cheap. Great place! (Here is their menu)
Ordered 3 gorditas (1 rajas/queso, 1 carne Chile rojo, 1 carne asada/queso) and an agua de piña. The gorditas we're flavorful, with the best one being the carne con Chile rojo. The Chile wasn't in the least bit hot, but was full of flavor. The agua de piña was delicious! The cashier was friendly & courteous. The atmosphere is laid back and home-y. Family friendly. The only downfall is they are cash only, but they have an ATM (with a $3 surcharge).
Best Gorditas in suburban Chicago!!! Great atmosphere, competitive pricing, clean and sanitary. Wide selection of gorditas, good live music. Try their discada and chicharrón prensado. Their gorditas are estilo Santiago Paspasquiaro, Durango, Mexico. The only cons are their hours of operation and they don't take Cards, cash only.
Food is overall really good. All items are authentic and home made. We have dined in but most of the time take out for breakfast. We buy barbacoa by the pounds on weekends super good. Burritos stilo durango really good but they are spicy. Gorditas are all good. Highly recommend place. Service can be lacking since they are busy.
Truly, the best Gorditas in the surrounding area of Chicago. They are made by the order and are served fresh! We prefer take out since it does get pretty busy, we’ve ate there a few times and nevertheless, good service. They have a wide variety, which is my favorite! Always something good to pick from!
