I didn’t even have time to take a picture because I couldn’t stop eating long enough to take one. The food is EXCEPTIONAL - the steak tacos were to die for. The service was sensational, the sign above the door is true; we entered as strangers and left as friends. We’ll be back tomorrow!!

Ok this is definitely a Mom & Pop dive joint. It's a lil rough around the edges and may not look very appealing BUT the inside has magic. Whom and whatever is making the barria tacos has the winning ticket. I randomly was searching for something on door dash for lunch while I was at work. I chose it for pick up when I got in honestly was about to turn around but the picture, although it doesn't do it justice, looked appetizing. All in all I went through with it. When I got to work and opened that tray.......something came over me. I there was garnished side of cilantro and diced/chopped onions. The au jus for the barria on the side. Listen I devoured that meal as if it were my last. So good brought others to it. But honestly the locals know. Honestly may not seem very busy but there is a consistent Doordash or UberEats driver picking up and carring out.

Update on this review. La raza closed its doors. Yay. New owners and remodel restaurant. The new place is called Rico Mexican Tacos. I have eaten from them when they used to be located on Emerald & Allegheny Ave. They have amazing food. The guacamole is made freshly at the moment of order. they have homemade tortillas. The food is delicious. Go and give them a try. If you love Birria tacos they have Birria quesadilla to die for. Really good food mixing mexican and puertorriquen cultures.

Wow! It’s hard to find good authentic tacos in North Philly. The meat (asada) was fresh & plentiful. The Elote had the right amount of sweet & heat. Definitely a home run. The staff was very polite & even let me sample the Birria for next time. This used to be another spot that they bought out. Eating at both places I have to say the new owners food is much better. Great food & big servings! I’m definitely coming back.

Loveeeee Rico tacos! I’ve been ordering from here for the past 2 years and never disappoints. Before they added Birria to the menu I always got the carnitas tacos. But everything is so yummy! We also love the sopes, the guac & the horchata.
