I go here at least once per month to get a chicken shawarma salad to-go. Of all the Greek and Lebanese restaurants I've tried, their CS salad is my favorite! The portion is enough to eat on at least twice. I also love their Mediterranean hummus and fried cheese! And I appreciate that they have a drive-thru window for convenience.
Athenos Greek and Lebanese Cafe in Brusly is phenomenal. The taste of the Chicken Schwarma Salad and the pita bread is consistently amazing and delights me. The serving portion is generous and I love that the salad always comes with the dressing always mixed in. It's never soggy or too much. I recommend this for family and anyone who has a taste for Greek and Lebanese and want authentic flavor. My next dish from there will be the beef kabob dinner! I appreciate the friendly service and the speed at which they serve customers. My family and I will dine in one day soon, but for sure we will all order takeout.
This place was great. Went about 11:40 on a Friday and we were the only people in there. Fried cheese was excellent. Veggie plate was a ton of food. I like how the salad came out before the rest of the food. Would return. Bathroom was fairly clean.
I visited this location while attending a conference in Port Allen on Saturday, March 11, 2023. The customer service was professional and friendly. The waitresses were very pleasant and allowed our party to remain in the store as they closed and began cleaning up. The restaurant was clean and several patrons visited with their families. Things not liked. I really wanted to enjoy my food but I was disappointed. I thought it was just me but several people in the party said their dishes were dry and/or not flavorful. I ordered hummus and the Vegetarian Plate. The plate came with Eggplant moussaka, spinach pie, grape leaves, a feta salad, rice pilaf, and pita bread. I enjoyed the salad, pita bread, and spinach pie but was disappointed by the other items. I absolutely love hummus and I was excited to eat this. I was disappointed with the hummus. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but something was missing. Things liked. My husband ordered the Mediterranean Salad and Adass (Lentil Bean) soup. He was very pleased with his soup and salad. It tasted flavorful. However, be warned if you don't want a lot of soup, order the cup and not the bowl. The Chicken Curry was a win for the night. Because it was a large party, we sampled each other's dinner. Everyone agreed that they wished they would have opted for the chicken curry. Paired with the rice pilaf, this dish was a winner. The Lebanese tea was delicious. Several people order it and was pleased with it. I didn't realize it had dairy until it was too late. However, I didn't experience any adverse affects from this. Summary If I am ever in Port Allen or New Orleans, I would visit this restaurant again. I would likely order a soup, salad, and a curry dish.
I absolutely love this place. The food is always hot and delicious and the service is always fast and friendly. I tend to always order the same thing when I go:Meat Moussaka and Meat Stuffed Grape Leaves. The portions are large; I always have enough for lunch the next day. They have never let me down. This is ultimate comfort food and the best Greek I've ever had.
Gyro meal was terrific! However, the Grecian/tzaziki must've been limited in supply as I requested extra. Thankful it wasn't made w/ Mayo, but not Greek yogurt neither as sour cream is okay too. Did receive the extra onions 4 sure! Also, extra kalamata olives....received about 6. So anything more than 2 was good as I didn't mind paying extra 4 these items. Will return to try other options; recommend this place to others.
Delightful little place! Food and service were great!
Listen! This place is amazing, the food and including the customer service is top tier. If there’s a slightest possibility something’s wrong they will for sure fix it!
