I've been trying to get here since David Portnoy's 9.4 rating. The pizza was great, the staff worker at the order window was very nice. The dining area was very simple, small wooden tables and chairs. I walked in at 11:45am to order, and was told it would be ready at 12:30pm, it is what it is. The prices were very fair. You get a feeling that you're in a famous eatery, which you are. The pizza made my top five, but not my favorite.
Yes it does live up to the HYPE!!! It was a snowy Saturday and I figured it’s probably my best chance to grab a pie or two and boy I am glad I did . I got a pepperoni, buffalo chicken and margarita and they were all spectacular. All the pies were cooked perfectly and you can tell the dough they use makes the difference or maybe it’s the wood fire oven not sure but I enjoyed it throughly. The restaurant has some seating but you have better odds ordering to go vs dining in. My order had a 2 hour wait and it was worth it Will be back for same or others they have on the menu
Finally was back in the area to try the world famous pizza. It definitely lived up to the hype. Thankfully it was only a 45-minute wait for a few pies. But it was definitely worth it. Staff is amazing. The history of the pizzeria is just so cool. Oh and did I tell you the pizza is absolutely amazing. Especially the sausage. You definitely need to try it.
One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. I had incredibly high expectations and I was not disappointed. Pizza was crisp, chewy, good cheese and sauce. The crust and how it’s cooked really makes this pizza exceptional. Fast and Friendly service. I Arrived at 1100 on a Wednesday. I was First in line and the pizzas took 15 minutes.
When I’m in an area that I see has a 94 rated One Bite pizza joint…. It’s pretty much drop everything, move the meetings, change the tee time, whatever is necessary and get there.. this place lives up to every bit of the rating. When you’ve tasted a 90+… there’s no real comparison. We will be back!
I flew 900mi to finally try this place. It was hyped to the moon. For me it was worth it! If you’ve seen the videos and think it’s the kind of pizza you like then it’s the best version. No flop. Tasty cheese. Perfect crust. I got a meatball. Zero complaints. Cooked perfectly how I like it. Well done. One thing I got lucky on was the order time. Account for 1-2hrs minimum before close to get a pizza. I didn’t order ahead and just barely got my pie before close. Everyone was nice all the customers and workers. Whole town is charming really enjoyed my stay. Wish I lived closer would visit 25-30times a year.
The pizza absolutely lives up to the hype. I’ve tried pies from many of the top spots across the country, and this one stood out the moment I took my first bite. The cheese and sauce are outstanding, and the crust is perfect — sturdy with no flop and just the right amount of leopard spotting. I’d been in the area a few times before but could never get one since they were either sold out or closed. This time the wait was completely worth it, and I’m already looking forward to going back.
Opened promptly at 1130a and there were approx 8 people on line before me. Large pie, salad, 2 frozen calzones for take away - with tip approx $55. Prompt 25min wait for the pie.Still had about an hour drive home. Pizza reheated perfectly! Delicious. Frozen calzones were easy the following week when you need a quick dinner/snack and easily serve 1-2 people.
Oh this place Trump‘s all pizzerias. This was a great great experience. For the first time I went. I ordered the pizza they delivered in a box. I ended up eating the whole entire pizza at the restaurant in the table. You would be deceived thinking this place is sold out every day that there would not be any tables, but they have plenty of tables to sit at you can order the pizza. I would recommend calling at 4 PM and ordering the pizza for whatever time you would need Most Fridays and Saturdays are super busy so it’s hard to get a pizza order if you were to call them after 6 PM it’s unlikely but if you got them at four, you would be able to order at any time you’d like for me. I just came home with two pies the other day and oh my gosh was it the best pizza we’ve had in the longest time. The first time I had this place I burnt my entire mouth on the pizza cause I was just so excited to eat it and the second time I brought home two pies, one plain pie, one pepperoni pie they were absolutely phenomenal. I brought them back. I’m about a 35 minute ride from there so it was a little chilly when I arrived home. I thought it was the perfect temperature for me to just gobble up every single slice. I was in all the pizza was great. I would recommend this place to so many people if you had the time go sit there wait for it to cool down so you don’t burn your entire top of your mouth, but it was incredible. I would highly recommend highly recommend Even the girls behind. The counter were super friendly very nice and they were accommodating. I asked a couple questions they they answered. It was a good good chat. They even have the Mexican Coke. I prefer water but that’s beyond the point.
Come in / call early or you’ll miss out. Staff is friendly and food is amazing. Pizza comes out of that magic 100+ year old oven super crispy and delicious. The experience is legit and I can’t wait to go back every time.
Great little local business dealing with high demand. Excellent east coast style pizza. Unpretentious. Low key. Loyal customers. Experienced staff. Plan your visit to avoid disappointment.
This was a wonderful slice! The crunch at the bottom of the pie seriously makes it such a memorable first bite. Worth the trek and the wait. Service was incredible and very friendly.
Eat it while ur there for the crisp. It DOESNT crunch the same when the steam in the box gets to it. If you listen to people eating it inside all you'll hear is crunching. I'd personally add some cheese for the salt content cus i like salty. otherwise the pizza was dang good!!!
While this is top notch pizza, it's different. It's not going to be for everybody. This isn't football pizza or a regular plain pie. This is a 9.4 for some, and a one and done for others. I've witnessed both opinions before my very eyes. I personally like this pizza very much, probably top 20 that I've tried. And that's out of hundreds. I tried about every slice in Manhattan between college classes. That being said, this place is way overhyped and overcrowded. It sucks that locals can't even get a pie here anymore. Lucky for me, I have another top 20 on my list very nearby. I won't say where and blow up my spot. Anyway, my score: 8.7
If I’m honest, I can’t stand Dave Portnoy but he’s the reason I had to try DeLucia’s. I showed up ready to be disappointed. Nothing ever really lives up to the hype, right? To his credit, his 9.4 was spot on. If anything, his score was too low. The pizza is a ten. It’s the best I’ve ever had. The crust is a thing of beauty and that’s really the draw here for me. I ordered a large cheese and ended up eating the entire pie myself. Totally worth it. There was crunch in every bite. Perfection! I’m almost an hour away but I will be back. Staff is very friendly, service quick. The inside of the place is no frills, so is the menu but that’s how you know you’re in the right place. Keep doing what you do DeLucia’s!!!
The pizza came out piping hot (it burned the roof of my mouth). The first slice had a little bit of flop but if you wait it’s flattens up. The undercarriage was cooked perfectly. The best part about the pizza was the crunch and it kept getting crunchier. It had the right amount of cheese. The sauce is great but I wouldn’t said it’s out of this world. To me this is the second best pizza, minus crossing the pond. Lastly this pizza shines both hot and cold. I would say the sauce is better and comes through more cold. It lives up to Portnoy hype.
