Friendly staff, and some of the best pizza I have ever had. We love the Mata's Special and the meat lovers. No matter how far I live from Anniston they are worth the commute. L
I am a first-timer...and I just had to share my experience!! I tried the Extra Special Pizza and it was so FRESH and DELICIOUS! The owner was so kind and pleasant. You can actually see the workers making the fresh pizzas and Grinders. The pizza was baked to perfection. I also ordered a Large Greek salad...and it was full of fresh veggies and feta cheese!! Please try the House Greek dressing, it is divine!!! I cannot wait to come back. Thank you!!
This place has always been one of my family's favorite places to eat. We would always get a pizza or two for birthdays or on Friday nights when it was possible. The food has always been good. This week was the first time I have had pizza from here in a long time. It was delicious. I also tried my first meatball grinder, and it tasted even better. I try to support locally as much as I can.
I have been enjoying Matas since they opened 45 years ago. Great food, great owners ,and so many wonderful memories of eating Mata's.
Been eating it since I was a child.. even worked there for a few years. Hands down the best pizza I've ever had.
The service was fantastic. The restaurant was busy, looked like mostly takeout customers. Ordered a small meat pizza — it was good, but I don’t agree that it was the best in Alabama. I would probably go back, but not being from the area, it might not happen. The food was worth the $11, so if you’re in the mood for something other than “chain pizza”, give them a try. It’s pretty good.
This is an iconic restaurant in our area. If you have never tried it then you are missing out! It's worth the drive from an hour away. They are doing drive through only at this time. Their Greek salad is the best I've ever had from a restaurant of this size.
First time eating there it was so good. Let me tell you it was the cheesiest pizza I ever had they ain't afraid to pile on the cheese
