We came to Chilliwack for a short fishing trip, and some guys at the local bait shop recommended Bow & Stern as the best seafood restaurant in town — and I think they were absolutely right! Our server, Billie, was amazing — friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive throughout the evening. The food was truly impressive — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The oysters were incredibly fresh and perfectly served on ice with delicious sauces. The Cioppino was rich and full of perfectly cooked seafood, and the Arctic char had crispy skin and a delicate flavor that made it unforgettable. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, yet classy, with great energy and warm service. We left completely satisfied and already planning to come back on our next visit. If you’re in Chilliwack and love seafood, this place is an absolute must-try!
Bow and Stern is easily one of the best spots in Chilliwack! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The seafood is incredibly fresh and full of flavour — I especially recommend the Sable fish dish. Great drink selection too and everything came out quickly. A perfect place for a casual meal or a night out. Highly recommend!
We went to Bow & Stern for an early dinner and were lucky to catch happy hour. We ordered a dozen oysters, but four of them were way too small — honestly, they didn’t seem sellable even for happy hour. I mentioned it to the server, and she kindly brought out four extra. The other dishes were tasty and enjoyable.
The way we came here 2 days in a row because everything about it was really THAT GOOD!!! Last night we had the crispy calamari, ceasar salad, and seafood linguine. It was immaculate. The service. The vibe. The food. We came back tonight for dessert and it did not disappoint. This will be one of those restaurant experiences I’ll be thinking about long after I leave Chilliwack.
This restaurant is so close to being 5 stars, but some of the food wasn’t quite at that level: I had the miso sable fish - that was 5 stars - broth was perfect and the fish was not overcooked. The soba was actual soba and not udon as sometimes happens, so this was great as well. Sourdough toast was awesome. My guy had a different fish option with risotto, where it was mushy and bland, and the fish was dry and overcooked The salad we shared had great dressing but was mostly lettuce and not a variety of greens as the menu suggested Service was great though and overall we enjoyed the meals.
Started our road trip by visiting District 1881 and grabbing lunch at Bow & Stern. Tried the Kraken Seafood Boil ($95) with some friends. The platter comes with crab, shrimp, clams, sausage, corn, and potatoes. A bit messy bit they do have bibs available. Good boil with drawn butter for dipping. Also shared the Brussels Sprouts ($16) which were crispy and a bit sweet. Loved the Boston Clam Chowder ($16 for a bowl) served with a nice buttered focaccia bread and plenty of clams. Virgin Mai Tide ($9) was also refreshing.
This was our second visit to Bow & Stern and we are as impressed as we were the first time. The Happy Hour selection is excellent, the oysters and California roll were delicious! Our server, Sam was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very welcoming to all ages. The patrons were of every age group. Definitely a 5 out of 5. Check out our Kids Cooking reel on fb were Lori gives a brief introduction to the restaurant.
Great place food is great. The service is fantastic. The area has being fixed up and really enjoyable to walk around after supper.
