China plate has the best Chinese food in Durban. Reasonable prices and large portions. My all time favourite restaurant. An authentic Chinese management experience.
Thourghly enjoyed my evening. Nice Chinese food. Huge variety to choose from. Opted for set menu. Portions are huge. Definitely will go back. The hosts are also very friendly and accommodating.
The Food was amazing 10/10 highly recommend, ordered Chicken Dumplings, Beef chow mein and peri peri chicken in Szechuan sauce, very large portions and freindly staff, awesome experience.
Visited with the family and enjoyed it very much. The sizzling platters are best. Also enjoyed the stir fry in peanut sauce 10/10. Avoid the sweet and sour pork ribs as they fry it in batter and there's not much meat. For dessert we had the fried ice cream. Delicious!!!
Food was delicious. One of the few Chinese restaurants that have lamb options.
China Plate is absolutely the best Chinese food around . .. The Owner's name is George and meals are cooked by him. (George is the ex Cheff of the once well known Hotel on the Duràban beachfront called, The Edward Hotel)... All meals are absolutely divine - Staff are friendly. I would recommend to book in advance for seating.
Absolutely incredible!! The food was so good I forgot to get pics before we tucked in. We had the mixed fried rice (definitely the best dish), chicken Fu Yung, pork belly and the pork sizzler. I can't wait to go back!

My mom craved their food so much when she was pregnant with me that I’m pretty sure I was 50% chicken chow mein at birth. I’ve been eating there since I was little, and honestly, it’s never missed. Their chicken chow mein is legendary – saucy, packed with flavour, and somehow still tastes like a warm hug. The sweet and sour chicken? A crispy masterpiece. And don’t get me started on the spring rolls – dangerously addictive. The vibes are cozy, the staff are always friendly, and the food? Consistently top-tier. If you haven’t tried China Plate yet, do yourself a favour – your tastebuds (and possibly your future children) will thank you.
