Neoria Fish Tavern- Xilouris

Came in for a quick lunch today. Stunning food and wonderful service, with a stunning view over the marina. The Octopus was phenomenal. I will be back!

Excellent seafood and a lovely setting right by the old harbour. We had the octopus and cuttlefish: both tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, along with a traditional dakos that was fresh and delicious. The staff were warm and attentive, and we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary dessert and a glass of Vinsanto to finish. Great atmosphere, fair prices, and a beautiful view of the sea. Highly recommended for an authentic Chania dining experience!

Sitting at Neoria feels like securing the best seat for a private screening of the Venetian Harbour, a spot so authentic that the late Anthony Bourdain once pulled up a chair here to devour sea urchin and raki. It is hallowed ground for serious eaters, devoid of tourist-trap theatrics and run by a team who treat you like a long-lost cousin who desperately needs feeding. The stunning view competes with the menu for attention, but thankfully, both are equally spectacular. The seafood is treated with reverence, sourced fresh that very morning and cooked with the casual confidence that confirms why this humble spot is a culinary landmark. We devoured a platter of grilled fish that tasted of nothing but the ocean and clean smoke, proving that when the catch is this good, you really don't need to do much else. It is honest, unpretentious cooking that lets the ingredients scream their quality, leaving you with a memory as golden as the sunset.

Recommended by our hotel manager and it did not disappoint. The steamed mussels could use more seasoning and the cuttlefish was tasty and presented well. Their wine list offered a nice selection at reasonable prices. Service was polite and efficient but we had to ask for an ice bucket to keep our wine chilled. Overall a good experience.

The fish could not be fresher – every bite tastes like it just came from the sea. The service is equally amazing: warm, welcoming, and truly family-oriented, which makes you feel right at home. We tried several dishes, and each one was unforgettable. The mussels were perfectly prepared, the shrimp was delicious, and the frisb… there are simply no words to describe how incredible it was! To top it all off, the restaurant is right on the harbour, giving you peaceful and beautiful views while you enjoy your meal. An unforgettable dining experience – I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Crete!

Village salad, Fresh kalamari, Mediterranean pasta, kritharoto with shrimp were just delicious! Large portions and very friendly staff! Halvas and choc cake with ice cream were complimentary and very delicious!!!

Very generous portions and even more generous service. We had the Greek salad, garlic salad dip and bread followed by the fish platter for two. We barely managed to finish everything but luckily there were helpful harbour cats around who were happy to assist us in finishing up the bits of fish that we couldn't eat. They were waiting politely next to our table though until we dropped some food for them, they don't jump up and try to steal the food or anything like that. The service was great too because after our meal they actually brought us not one but three desserts and a ca. 150ml bottle of raki on the house! Would definitely recommend!

Just walk round the harbour away from the touristy area and you will find this superb restaurant! The menu is clear if anything is frozen with fresh options too. Calamari was excellent, tender and tasty and the stuffed courgette flowers were perfect! Excellent value and great service. Well worth taking time to walk a little further. Surprised with a gorgeous chocolate cake and raki to finish which was on the house! What's not to like!!
