I had seen ads for Sgt. Rick's on Facebook, and being a Marine family, my mom and I definitely wanted to support a veteran-owned business. The food was phenomenal! I had the Pulled Pork Deluxe Nachos and Loaded Tater Tots, my mom had a BLT with fries, and fried mushrooms on the side. The pulled pork on my nachos was the bomb, some of the best I've have in awhile. The portions were huge and we left stuffed. We enjoyed the military decor. We didn't feel particularly welcome when we first walked in (its VERY small town and we aren't "from around here"), but Rick was very nice as we were chatting with him towards the end of our visit. We will definitely be back to try out some of the other menu options.

I stopped in this place one morning on my way to work. I travel to different districts and had never been to Freetown before. This was the only place I could find that was open before the business I work at was open. I'm so glad I stopped in! The home cooked breakfast was amazing! The hospitality, atmosphere and service was top notch. I really recommend it!

Fantastic brisket served up by the sarge in a very patriotic atmosphere! Sgt Rick is a great guy to talk to and has served our country as well as his family has past & presently. A true Americana gem worth checking out for fantastic food in a small town USA!

THIS IS A MUST TRY: HIDDEN GEM ALERT!!! SGT Rick's American GRILL & B B Q Hands down the absolute best breakfast I have had in years! Looking over the menu this morning, and there are sooo many great items to choose from ALL day long. Please give this place a try, I promise you won't be disappointed and you will be planning a second trip back before you pay for your meal!! It was so nice to eat at a place with such great customer service and in an atmosphere that, without a doubt honors those that have fought for our freedoms!

This restaurant is the real Devil Dog Diner. It is the perfect Marine Corps cave with all your love me, Marine Corps vibes. Then top the John Wayne atmosphere off with awesome BBQ items and comfort foods. The brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and burgers were served with great fries, baked beans, potatoe salad, and slaw. SGT Rick is the drill instructor Jarhead running this hidden gem, right in the heart of Freetown, IN. Population 410. I was with our Marine Corps League Chapter 1394 Officers and NCO's. I promise you will love the food and people here. Desserts are amazing cobbler and pie with ice cream. Their is a SOP. Do not ask for breakfast after 10:30.... Check the hours before driving here, as it is not open 24/7 like we wish it was!

My wife and I stopped by for lunch. I had the pulled pork nachos and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich and a salad. The food was excellent and the service was great. Wed definitely eat here again when we are in the area.

Sgt Rick’s American Grill & BBQ has officially become one of my new favorite spots. Honestly, it was hard to even decide what to order because everything on the menu sounded amazing. I ended up going with the pulled pork nachos, and they were hands-down the best nachos I’ve ever had. The flavors were incredible and the portion was perfect. I can’t recommend this place enough — my only regret is that I don’t live closer!
