We have come here two years in a row for my Grandma's birthday meal and she always really enjoys it. The service is always very good and everyone has really enjoyed their food. They even went as far as bringing us a knife and pie/cake server to help cut her birthday cake. This year is her 98th birthday; I'm so glad she enjoys coming here, they make it so easy for us to do, and have no issue seating our large party of 16-20. Highly recommend this place!
First time to eat there. From out of town. Googled places to eat near my location. When arrived not busy and looked k8nd of like a little hole in the wall place from outside. Interior bigger then what it seemed from outside. Clean. Large enough to host big families. I thank it also had a banquet room. Great selection of food, hard to choose. Great quality and quantity of food for price. Great atmosphere. And our waitress was like a ray of sunshine. Will return to eat at this establishment
Nice restaurant with great service! The food was good.
Thank you for such great hospitality. The food was so good - Our group enjoyed everything; particularly creating good memories that included the service and food! We hope to see you again for other gatherings!
I don’t know why I don’t come here more often. It is close to home, have at least 3 meal specials every day of the week, the prices are very reasonable and the staff is always efficient and friendly. Tucked away in the back of a parking lot it doesn’t like like much but when you get inside it is a beautiful big open floor plan dining room with ample tables and booths. The menu is simple but has something for everyone. It’s truly a “family” restaurant where everyone is happily enjoying their food and each other’s company. Portions are generous and affordable. It reminds me of my childhood and the times we ate out with my parents. I started my meal with a Loaded Potato Soup. With shredded cheese, real bacon bits and scallions added fresh to the top it is a rainbow of flavors when you mix it all up. Potatoes where soft & tender so no complaints whatsoever. My main entree was a steak sandwich with a side of Mac N Cheese. The Mac was a little watery so a little more cheese would have made it perfect, but it was still great and cooked perfectly, not over or under like other places. The steak was a big portion on a hamburger bun. So much that I cut it in half to make a nice thick sandwich of a medium cooked steak that was tender and flavorful. With lettuce and tomatoes and a touch of Heinz 57 & hot sauce......I was in Heaven with each bite. And the cherry on top of this experience was my waitress Dawn.......she made sure my water & tea were always topped off and asked ahead of my food arriving if I needed any condiments. When my meal arrived I was all set to dig in because she had everything covered. This will officially be my “Home” restaurant......we all need one.
We usually do takeout here and it is usually very good. The fried seafood dishes are always very good. The fried chicken is also top notch. I highly recommend Southern Family!
The oysters last night were some of the best I’ve ever had. Tender and perfectly cooked.
Looks better on inside then out, clean, good service, family atmosphere, and excellent food. Outstanding flounder shrimp combination.
